Sofia the First: A Napping Deal

Cedric sighed in exasperation as he finished his fifth potion for the day. He never thought that King Roland would ask so much him! How many problems did the king have? That had to be the number one question of the day as he checked off his list. "I believe that's it for the day Wormy." He said as he folded the list up and began to gather the potions together.

The sorcerer wished that his list was the last thing he needed to do but now he had to wait for Princess Sofia, so that they could continue her sorcerery lessons. As he was about to lean his head back and rest his eyes Sofia's familiar knock came right on cue. Why didn't he expect that?

After groaning a bit he got up to open the door for her. Once he reached the door and opened it Sofia bounded inside with excitement. "I'm ready for my next lesson Mr. Cedric." Cedric was about to nod when his eyes began to droop.

Sofia began to worry as she observed her friend. "Are you okay Mr. Cedric, if you want we could call off my lessons for the day." Cedric reopened his eyes and shook his head, he wasn't about to let sleep overtake him just yet! First he had to give the princess her lesson.

His apprentice doubted he would last though her lesson, he needed rest desperately. "You didn't push yourself again did you? You know very well how I get onto you for that. Sure, it's good that you're finally being acknowledged a little by dad now but even great sorcerers need their sleep."

Cedric shook his head and finally gained his voice "I'm fine, I've lasted though drowsiness before and I can…." As he was about to finish his declaration he hit his head against the wall. "Oh Merlin's Mushrooms, where did this wall come from?" he then fell to the floor looking at an upside down giggling princess.

"It didn't come from anywhere Mr. Cedric; you were heading in the wrong direction." She then helped him up off the floor and pulled him towards his room. "I meant to do that princess, I uh…was…"

"Demonstrating that a tired sorcerer should keep his eyes open unless he wants to bang his head against the wall?" she asked, trying not to laugh. The man smirked as regained his composure, becoming fully awake.

He them scoffed and crossed his arms. "Please enlighten me why a sorcerer would want to bang his head against the wall." Sofia shrugged making herself return the smirk. "I don't know, maybe you can tell me why a princess would bang her head against the wall."

Cedric bent down to her level and answered "Let's just say they would be really tired and not be able to keep their eyes open or their really exasperated." Sofia nodded in agreement and asked "Then, I guess you're for your nap?"

The man thought for a moment then said "Fine, I'll have my nap but tomorrow you'll have to help me get Wormy to try on his new outfits." The princess agreed then left the Workshop hearing a certain raven complaining. "Why did I have to get into the deal?"
