This is my first D. Gray-Man Fic. I hope you all enjoy it. I do not own D. Gray-man.
A small boy with white hair ran through the forest. He could hear howling in the distance and shouting. The boy needed to get away before they found him again. He wasn't ready to die just yet.
He didn't understand why the towns people attacked him. They tortured him saying that they were cleansing the devil out of him. All of that just because of his red arm. Blood was running down the side of his head and his body was burnt from where they had tried to use fire to cleanse him. All he wanted was to lay down and rest, but he couldn't. He had to keep running, to keep fighting for his life. For as much good that would be to him now.
The shouting and the howling were getting closer and closer. Everything started to get blurry when he suddenly ran into someone. Out of fright he punched at the person but was stopped in his attack.
The male looked at the boy. He saw the damage that had been done to the boy. The left arm of the boy did not go unnoticed by the older man. Intrigued the man knelt down by the boy, "My name is Adam, but my family calls me the Mellinium Earl." He heard the shouting and looked up where he could see people coming closer. The boy struggled to get free.
"Let me go! I need to get away! They will kill me!" The boy shouted at the Earl. He didn't care who this man was. All he knew was that he had to get away. Nothing in this god forsaken world would make him want to go back with those people. Who knows what they will do to him next.
There was something about this boy that he couldn't just let him get taken. Besides the innocence he recognized in the boy's left arm was something that he wanted. Though he could not deny that there was something familiar about this boy. Something that felt like family to the Earl. Tightening his grip on the boy The Earl disappeared. He reappeared on the ark with the boy in his arms.
"Melliniee!" He heard a shout before a girl latched herself onto the Earl.
"Rhode, I am glad you are here-" He was cut off when the boy started to struggle again.
"Let me go!" He must have moved the wrong way or something because the pain was now evident. Instead of screaming like he wanted to his vision became blurry and he blacked out slumping against the Earl.
"Who is that?" Rhode questioned as she let go of the Earl and looked closely at the boy. The blood coming from his wounds and his burnt skin made it hard for her to get a good look at his facial features.
"He is new part of our family." The Earl said.
Rhode eyes widened and a smile was on her face as her eyes gleamed with excitement. "Really?" the Earl nodded. Rhode reached down to grab his left hand but was instantly shocked by it. She winced and jerked back, looking at his left arm. "Melliniee, This boy has innocence in his left arm." Rhode pointed out, now looking at the Earl with a questionable look.
"Yes, he does Rhode." The Earl starts to walk down a hallway with the boy in his arms, "I found him running from humans. Ones that were most likely in the nearby town." The Earl took a left turn. "My guess is that they didn't understand what that was." He looks down at the boy, "There is something... Familiar about him... I want to keep him close at all times. Rhode can you go get Tiki for me? I want him to take care of the boy."
Rhode nodded and ran off to find Tiki.
The Earl opens a door to an empty bedroom. His face saddens a bit as he looked around, "This room used to belong to someone very dear to me." He walks over to the bed and lays the boy down. Not willing to let the boy just lay there covered in blood, he walked over to the bathroom and wet a wash cloth.
Just as he started to wash the blood of the boys face, Tiki and Rhode walked into the room. "You wanted to see me, Earl?"
The Earl nodded. "I want you to take care of this boy. When he awakens again you are to find out everything you can from him." He finished cleaning up the blood and his eyebrows shot up in surprise at his left eye as well. "That is an Akuma mark..." His curiosity for this boy doubles at the sight of that.
Tiki walked over, "It indeed is."
Rhode had crawled onto the bed to get a look at it. Her finger began to lightly trace the mark. "Mellinie, is that why he felt so familiar?"
"I do not know." He replies before leaving the room.
Rhode and Tiki look at each other. They have never seen The Earl act this way towards a human before. Even with the innocence in his arm and the mark of an Akuma. They knew full well that this boy was human.
It was then that the boys eyes shot open and he sat up, only to bang his head against Rhode's causing both of them to fall back groaning form the pain.
After taking a few moments to recover from that, he starts to look around the room before his eyes met with Tiki's, "Where am I? Did I escape?"
"You're safe, boy. Now tell me who you are." Tiki demands.
"Allen," He replies. "My name is Allen walker. I really managed to escape from those despicable humans?" He asks again.
Tiki nods, surprise that Allen could already say such words. After all he look only to be at least eight years of age. "How old are you?" Curiosity getting the best of him. Rhode notices and gives Tiki a blank look which he just shrugs to.
"Ten." He replies, "Who are you?"
"Tiki."
"And I'm Rhode." Rhode says holding up her hand which got Allen's attention.
Allen smiled at the both of but it didn't reach his eyes. They both noticed the hatred and emptiness inside the boy. 'From the looks of it, this boy as a long history to be telling.' Tiki thinks before he sits down on the edge of the bed, pulling out a cigar. 'This has got to be interesting.'
Allen eyes Tiki when he pulled out the cigar. Afraid that he was going to end up putting it out with his flesh. He didn't like the idea that he was around people he didn't know. Every time it was the same. They always tried to cleanse him in some way.
Tiki looked at the boy as he lit the cigar. "I'm not going to do anything to you boy. So relax."
Rhode glances at Tiki but kept most of her attention on Allen. "Why are you so angry?" Rhode asks. She decided to switch the subject considering how tense Allen had gotten. Knowing that Tiki wasn't going to be any way sympathetic towards Allen.
Allen looks away from Tiki to hold eye contact with Rhode. "Because, I want to kill every last human being that did this to me. The thought of them still alive burns within me and I can't help but feel angry." Allen replies.
Rhode and Tiki both looked at each other. A wave of tiredness swept of Allen and his eyelids begin to shut. But not before he heard Rhode say, "Don't worry, Allen. We'll fix that." And then darkness.
I hope you enjoyed. I have re-edited the first chapter to be a bit longer and make a little bit more sense than before. I wanted to elaborate a bit more and go into more depth about how they all first met. I feel better with this edit than the way I had it before. Please review!
