The starless night was beautiful. The only thing in it was the full moon, shining brightly, so I could see the river in front of me. The warm airtouched my cold skin, but it doesn't affect me. Smells were all around me. I know there is a flock of deer only a few miles east of me, but I'm nothungry enough to hunt them. I sighted and laid back. I could lay here all night, but I need my sleep or mom would throw a fit. I sighed again and closed my eyes.

"Nessie?" A voice asked above me. My heart skipped a beat. I recognized that voice. I opened my eyes and saw the man that I love, lookingdown at me. He flashed a big toothy grin at me. My heart skipped a beat again.

I studied his face. His skin was dark olive tone with big brown eyes. His black hair had grown to his shoulders once again.

"yea?" I asked sitting up. He sat down next to me and looked at the river.

"Its pretty at night isn't it?" He asked. I nodded.

"It is" I agreed, but then turned to look at him.

"Jake, that's not why you came down here is it? To tell me how pretty the river looks?"

Jake just chuckled. It was low and kind of rough.

"Maybe it is" He said teasingly. He has a sparkle in his eyes.

"Jacob Black, now I know you're lying!" I said shoving him. He just chuckled again and put his arm around me.

"Ok. You caught me. Bella wanted me to come to get you. Charlie's coming over soon and she wants you to be ready"

"Ah mom." I sighted. "She always is so cautious about things. Especially with grandma and grandpa."

"Yea, well Charlie has agreed to a need to know information 6 years ago when you were born." I rolled my eyes. I hated being reminded that in human years I was only 6. But physically I am now 18 forever and mentally, well lets just say I'm still learning."

"You know Bella loves you so does Edward. They want to keep you safe."

"I know, I know." I said softly.I looked over at Jake and saw his face close to mine. Softly he kissed me. when I kiss Jake my pulse goes wild and my heart beats gets erratic.

Jake pulled back and sighed.

"What's wrong?" I asked quickly worrying if I hurt him.

"There's two bad things about you being half vampire and half human. One your almost stronger than me and two your skin is hard as rock." He said kissing me again.

"I like being half and half. I'm unique." He smiled and grabbed my hands. He pulled me up along with him into a standing position.

"Well come on, Charlie will be here soon." He said. Jake turned and ran towards my house. I smiled to myself and ran after him.
