Freddie's P.O.V
"What's your name?" a wild blonde haired asked me loudly.
"Freddie." I answered.
"My name is Sam." The girl said.
"Hi Sam." I said politely. I thought I might have recognized her from school.
"Which one do you like?" Sam asked pointing up to the toys lined up in front of us.
We were standing in a toy store. It was a week before for Christmas, and I was bursting with excitement.
"I like the Hot Wheels." I said.
"I like that one too." She said. I thought it was weird for a girl to like Hot Wheels.
"You do?" I asked.
"Yeah." She said. "But my sister Melanie likes Barbie's so that's normally what I get too."
"Oh well I hope you get Hot Wheels this year." I said. Most of the time I thought girls were gross, but Sam was pretty cool.
"Thanks." Sam said and she smiled a bright smile.
I grinned back but then I heard my mom's voice. "Freddie we're going home now." She called.
"Bye Sam." I said.
"Bye Freddie." She said.
OoooooooooooooooooooooooooooO
~Age 15~
"Ahhhh… Sam! What's your problem?" I yelled.
Sam Puckett had just slapped me, hard. I slapped her back, and I saw the rage in her eyes. Just as she was about to hit me again, Carly starting yelling at us.
"Guys please stop! Seriously, it's Christmas Eve!" she yelled.
Sam and backed up from each other, scowling.
"Fine." We both grumbled.
"Let's start the gift exchange." Carly said excitedly.
The three of us were all supposed to get each other.
Sam and I just sighed.
"I'll go first." Carly said. She handed me a present and gave one Sam too.
Sam unwrapped hers and it was a gift card to Groovy Smoothie.
"Thanks Carls." Sam said and hugged her while still glaring at me.
I tore the paper off the present and found a book on Internet design.
"Thanks Carly." I said smiling.
I hugged her and she grinned. "Glad you guys liked it."
"Okay now I'll give my presents." Sam said.
She handed me a cardboard box and gave Carly a small box with a pretty little bow.
Carly unwrapped hers at it was a gift card to Build-A-Bra.
"Thanks Sam" she squealed.
She just nodded and turned to me. "Well, are you going to open it Freddork?"
I nodded nervously and opened the box. I was afraid something would jump out at me, but nothing happened. I put my hand inside the box and pulled out an iTunes gift card.
"Thanks." I said.
She nodded again and I gave Carly her present.
She opened it and it was a pair of shoes she had pointed out at the mall when she dragged me through the mall one day.
"Thanks Freddie." She said.
OoooooooooooooooooooooooO
Later that night, I was sitting on the fire escape, and I realized I never gave Sam her present. Spencer running in the door with his banjo and a light-up Santa hat had distracted the three of us.
I heard a noise behind me. "Hey Freddie."
I turned and saw Sam standing behind me.
"Come in." I said.
She did and sat down by me. "You never gave me my Christmas present."
I smiled. "I have it right here."
I handed her a crudely wrapped box and she tore off the paper. She smiled.
"You remember?" she asked.
I had gotten her a set of Hot Wheels.
"Of course I do. I figured you didn't get what you wanted that year, so…" I said not finishing my sentence because of the look on her face.
Her blue eyes were sparkling and she looked like she was about to cry. She hugged me softly and pulled away.
"Thank you so much." She whispered.
I just smiled. "Merry Christmas Princess Puckett."
"Merry Christmas Benson." She said.
