Bakura liked cherries.

He had never had them before, as they were not indigenous to Egypt, and foreign fruit was quite rare (heck, anything foreign was rare back then), so when Ryou had offered him some, he had been wary.

Ryou had called him paranoid and shoved the fruit into his mouth.

Bakura liked all kinds of cherries, mostly because each reminded him of something he loved. Bing because when he bit into it, it looked like dark flesh, dipping cherry blood onto his fingers. Rainier cherries were smooth and paler than the rest, just like his hikari. And maraschinos, plunged in their own syrup seemed to imitate their relationship—each one slipping into the other, mind and body, driven by some strange force that didn't seem to care whether this was completely bizarre.

But mostly, Bakura liked cherries because they made Ryou's lips oh so red and perfect for kissing.

A.N: Came up with this after having slightly gory thoughts while eating Bing cherries. Because really, it's really creepy how much it looks like there's blood on your fingers while eating them.
