The twenty-sixth day is the day we must quest for the dragon.

Maam let out some grunts every time she hit the wooden training pole with her fists. She had recently changed her class to that of a fighter and the pink-haired girl wanted to become stronger for her team.

"One more set and I should be done for today," said Maam to herself as she tried to catch her breath.

"You should have been done two sets ago," said a voice, causing Maam to jump in surprise. Turning around, Maam found Pop standing a few feet behind her.

"What do you want, Pop? I'm in the middle of my training," stated Maam as she turned back to the training pole.

"I came to make sure that you were okay," replied the sage. "You've been pushing yourself and everyone is worried about you."

"I'm fine," ground out the girl. "Now leave me be so I may continue my training."

Before Maam could continue she was stopped when her arms and legs were bound together. Looking down in shock, she then looked back to see that Pop had used his staff to tie her up.

"You're going to overwork yourself," stated Pop in a serious tone.

"Pop, I swear if you don't untie me I'm going to kill you!" yelled Maam as she glared at her companion.

"I'll take that risk," he replied as he started dragging Maam back to camp.

Maam had no choice but to relent. It was only then how drained she felt. Maybe after a decent meal and a good night's sleep she could pick up on her training in the morning.

She would just have to make sure Pop didn't find out.

"And don't try to train tomorrow," said Pop. "We're going to make sure you get a whole day's rest."

Damn it!

There is barely any information out there based on Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. So if I got Maam and Pop's personalities wrong, that's why.
