"Whoa, that was close," breathing in relief, Dean slowed his run and put a hand on the hood of the Impala. Leaning over, he looked over to his younger brother who was coming to a stop by the passenger side door.
"What was that?" glancing back at the house they had just escaped, Sam fell back so that he was braced by the car. Shaking his head and tilting it so that he was facing his brother, he started to say something but a sudden thudding and glass shattering cut him off.
Dean spun around and gaped. Sam was gasping for breath and looking down at an iron rod protruding from his chest. "De-Dean…" he managed and Dean was there. His hands flew over his brother's chest and back, panicked at seeing that the iron rod was pinning Sam to the side of the Impala.
