The blonde girl stood facing the box with joy as if she knew exactly what it was. She didn't speak. She only looked at the blue box as tears filled her eyes. As the man and woman approached her, she began to back away, and then she saw him.
"Excuse me, sir?" she asked. "Are…are you the Doctor?"
"Why yes my dear. Why do ask? Should I know you?" the Doctor replied. Oh this woman knew the Doctor, but he was not her Doctor for he had not met her yet.
"No," the girl said. "You don't know me. Is this Susan?"
"How do you know who we are?" Susan asked.
"Doctor, may I speak with you?" the blonde asked. "I'll just be a second."
"Susan, go in. I'll be in a minute. Then we can go somewhere else. How would you like 1963? It's a pretty good year," the Doctor said. Susan opened the door and walked in.
"You're going to see me again, but it'll be very far into your future. You'll see me, but you won't remember me, and this won't have happened to me yet," she began. "You're going to take me to all sorts of places. We'll travel and laugh and….and we'll be happy."
"Girl, who are you? What is your name?" the Doctor asked.
"It's not important...yet. But someday my name will mean the world to you. And you're never going to forget it."
"Well, I can't wait to meet you then," the Doctor replied.
"And trust me, it's going to be fantastic," the girl laughed. "Here…take this." She handed him a yellow rose. "Maybe you'll remember this moment someday after I'm long gone from you, but right now it hasn't happened. But someday I'll be in there with you, and we'll be laughing and having a good time. And you're going to tell me stories of your people."
"Nice to meet you….whoever you are. Maybe I'll remember you when we meet again because this has made me quite excited for my future. You seem like a lovely girl. Thank you for the rose. It seems a bit random, but that doesn't matter."
"If you do remember, then you'll know that the rose is not random at all. Goodbye. I'll see you when you meet me," the girl said as she turned and left. The Doctor walked in to join Susan.
"Who was she?" Susan asked.
"Someone from my future that I have yet to meet. I asked for her name, but she just said that it wasn't important. Then she gave me this," the Doctor said as he showed Susan the rose.
"She gave you a flower?" Susan asked. "Why would she give you a flower? It doesn't make sense. Why did she give you a yellow rose?
"It's not just a yellow rose, Susan. It's her name."
