A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW;
1. Pan is Goku and Chi-Chi's daughter.
2. Planet Vegeta was NOT destroyed and they are in a hostile-mutal agreement with Earth. Frezia is still alive as well.
3. This is based off Romeo and Juliet- hence a forbidden romance between two disliking kingdoms- It will not however be fully cannon to the play.
4. This is a TrunksxPan so if you don't like them- you don't have to read it.
5. This is a AU story so it is NOT cannon to Dragon Ball /Z/ GT *Characters might and probably will seem OOC*
6. This is my only disclaimer- I do not own Dragon Ball Z all credit to that wonderfullness goes to Akira Toriyama. I also do not own Romeo and Juliet, credit to that goes to William Shakespeare. I only own my thoughts and ideas.
7. Enjoy!
Part one- In Which the Monster Falls for the Weakling
1
Fall
"Brats!" a large teen with unruly knee-length black hair yelled at a pair of misbehaving eight-year-olds. "Get yer asses back here! It's my job to watch ya!"
The oldest of the two boys stopped and turned towards the teen. "You're boring! Go find Nappa and leave us alone!" He tipped his nose in the air as he stuck his tongue out.
"Vegeta," the other boy called, his eyes wide as looked in the direction of food he was smelling. "Let's hurry before we're too late!" With that he had disappeared into the crowd.
"Kakarot!" Vegeta took off behind him, yelling, "I swear, if you don't leave some for me, I'll beat you to a pulp!"
Not moving from his earlier spot, the teen's eye twitched. Just because he was Kakarot's older brother, he was always left with babysitting duty when it came to those two! Honestly! And both boys were brats, hardly listening to him- or Nappa for that matter!
"Where's the brats?" Nappa asked, walking up.
Raditz glance at his friend, though the man was only a few years older than him, he looked a lot older... Maybe it was because he kept his head shaved. "They ran off..." Raditz huffed.
Nappa snorted, "Raditz, Raditz, Raditz, you got to get more serious with them!" He told his friend.
Radtiz looked at his friend flatly, "Shut up! They don't listen to you, either."
The large man nodded, "True. Both of them are stubborn assholes. I'm sure they'll cause us many more headaches before they even reach their teens."
Raditz snorted, "It wouldn't surprise me. You know, I don't mind watching them, not really, I guess. It beats going on a raid..." he mumbled under his breath so only Nappa heard.
"Uh-huh," the man sighed lightly. "Your dad and his squad should be returning today, right?"
Raditz nodded, "They should be here by now, actually..." He wondered why he hadn't heard anything yet...
"Raditz!" the teen turned to see a solider from the palace running up to him. Everything inside him froze... Why did he have such a bad feeling about the this? The solder reached the man, his face white and remorseful. He took a deep breath before continuing, "It's about your father..."
Early Summer
"Kakarot," Raditz poked his head inside his brother's room. "It's time."
"Okay," the now teenager smiled.
The brothers walked down the long hallway together. They were silent as they looked ahead to where the door waited for them. They had been living in the royal palace for ten years now, ever since the fateful day when their father, their only living relative had died. It was hard for both of them at first, but King Vegeta, being a great friend of the family, accepted them with wide arms. So they grew up as royalty, alongside the king's sons, Vegeta and Tarble. Kakarot and Vegeta who were already close friends, become like brothers, many adventures and troubles they had been through together, always dragging Raditz and Nappa along with them usually.
They made it to the room they were searching for, and Vegeta was the first to spot them. He walked up to them, standing next to his tall friend. They were quite a sight sometimes... Kakarot and his tall build with gravity-defying hair and Prince Vegeta, who only came up to Kakarot's shoulders, but his tall hair came up to to Kakarot's hairline.
"About time you two made it," Vegeta spoke, glancing at them.
"Sorry," Kakarot laughed, rubbing the back of his head. "I lost track of time and Raditz had to come and fetch me."
"Figures," Vegeta mumbled, rolling his eyes.
Raditz cracked a smile, "so Princey, you that nervous?"
Vegeta sent him a glare for asking such a ridiculous question. "Of course I'm not nervous," he finally scoffed.
"If you say so," Raditz chuckled under his breath lightly.
Vegeta rolled his eyes, crossing his arms across his chest. He had been on several raids and trade missions since he turned sixteen. The only thing that was different today was that it was the day his squad replaced his father's as the royal elite. It would be his first time leading a squad all on his own.
Really, he wasn't nervous. He had Nappa, Raditz, and Kakarot all in his squad. And once Tarble became of age, he would be welcomed into it as well. The younger boy wasn't very strong in combat skills but he made up with it in his weaponry. He was the best swordsman in the Capital!
"Vegeta," the king called to his oldest son. "It's time... Your first mission is a trade, it's Earth."
XxXxX
Vegeta sighed, looking around the bright blue sky. "Sometimes I wonder why Frezia makes us trade with such a mudball of a planet."
Beside him Kakarot laughed lightly. "Earth isn't so bad, Vegeta. Give it a chance."
"Hn," the Prince grumbled. "Leave it to you to say something like that, Kakarot. Always trying to find the good in things."
Kakarot laughed with a light shrug. Sometimes it was just nice to sit back and really see what was good. "What do you have to do?"
Vegeta shrugged, "beats the hell out of me. Whatever it is, Nappa is dealing with it."
Kakarot snickered, "isn't this your mission though?" He elbowed his friend gently.
Vegeta smiled smugly, crossing his arms over his chest. "Doesn't mean that I have to do the work, though."
"You're terrible, as always."
"Yeah, yeah," the Prince smirked. "You going to go explore?"
Kakarot nodded, "you as well?"
Vegeta nodded once, "I want to find out about this blasted technology. How can a simple planet have so many nice things?"
The tall friend shrugged, "maybe you should give earth more credit, Vegeta."
"Hn," Vegeta breathed through his nose lightly.
Kakarot and Vegeta separated ways. Kakarot heading towards the overgrown woods, and Vegeta heading towards the booming city.
Kakarot slipped through the trees, no direction in his mind as he looked at the scenery. To him, the outdoors was calming and soothing. A faint trail that no regular human would ever be able to see caught his eye. He walked over to it quickly, letting it lead him.
Laughter was the first thing Kakarot heard, and it was beautiful too. His ears perked as he slipped behind a tree quietly to see who was making the noise.
A girl, no older than him stood at a bank of a clear pond. Her dark hair was pinned up on top of her head neatly, and her fancy red dress was hitched up to her thighs. The thing that got Kakarot's attention the most was that she playing in the water! Wasn't she old enough to know better? But, the Saiyan had to admit, it did look fun...
Kakarot grew more curious as the minutes ticked by. Carefully, he stepped into the clearing. It was loud enough for the girl to hear, and to stop what she had been doing instantly and look over at him.
"You're a Saiyan," was the first thing she said as her eyes found his tail wrapped around his waist. She had never seen a Saiyan up close before... Usually, her father was the one to deal with them when they came to trade.
"You're a human," Kakarot stated back simply, just as fascinated with her as she was with him.
The young woman studied him for a minute before tilting her head to the side. "You don't look like a barbarian..."
Kakarot smiled faintly, taking a small step closer to her. "And you don't look ugly. What's your name?"
"Chi-Chi, yours?"
"Kakarot."
"Kakakarot?" She raised an eyebrow, sounding it out.
"Kakarot," the Saiyan corrected her clearly.
"Kakarot," she repeated, slowly walking out of the water towards him.
"Good," he smiled, taking a few more steps until he was just a few feet away from her. He liked the way his name sounded coming out of her mouth.
"It's nice to meet you, Kakarot," Chi-Chi gave him a small curtsy. She glanced up, her dark eyes meet Kakarot's own dark eyes and she felt something stir inside of her... Somehow, she just knew, that this Saiyan would become someone very important to her...
XxXxX
Vegeta grumbled as he stalked through the shadows. Other than the technology, earth was boring as hell to him! How could humans live such simple lives? He would never know...
He arrived at a large building, it wasn't the castle, that he knew, but it did look important. It looked up to date too... Very well advanced in technology. If he wanted to learn anything about earth's technology, this would be the place for him to go- he knew it.
The Prince jumped up in the air, flying around the building as he flew up... There had to be an opening somewhere. And there was. On the sixth floor a door to the balcony was left open. Vegeta smirked as he landed down on the tile, his eyes focused for the inside where he could already see screens.
"Crap!" a sharp voice hissed, and Vegeta snarled at himself for jumping at the new voice.
He looked around, and was surprised to see a woman sitting on the bench close to the edge of the rails. He hadn't even seen her when he flown up! Her back was turned to him, but he could see her blue hair tied up in a pony tail. She looked... Fit to say the least. Not fit like him- of course, she wouldn't be! She was a human after all- weak.
Vegeta walked up behind her silently, and his eyes widened when he saw her playing on something. It was something with a long screen, and she was taping on it furiously. He couldn't make out a thing mostly, but it looked she had an icon of some sort, and was making it avoid other things on the screen.
"What's that?" he finally asked.
The woman screamed- loudly, causing Vegeta to hiss and clamp his hands over his ears.
"Stop screaming, woman!" He ordered, his ears still covered.
"Who are you?!" she demaned, glaring at Vegeta as she stood up and glared at him. "Are you some type of pervert?! Sneaking up on a helpless girl such as myself!"
"Watch your tongue! I'm the prince of all Saiyans!" He tipped his nose into the air as a crossed his arms.
The woman glanced down, noticing the his dark brown tail around his waist. She swallowed lightly and forced her self not to blush when she saw the slight bulge in his spandex pants. Instead she looked at him, rolling her eyes with a scoff. "What do you want, a red carpet?"
"What were you doing?" Vegeta asked, ignoring her sarcastic remark.
"I was playing on a tablet, sheesh. Haven't you ever seen one?" she asked, her blue eyes looking at his handsome face and wild hair.
Vegeta shook his head. "I give earth one good thing, it has some nice technology."
The woman's eyes widened. "Don't you Saiyans have scouters...?" she raised an eyebrow, looking at the one on his right eye.
"Yes, but earth's technology seems almost more advance," he admitted, his eyes narrowing on the tablet in her hands.
"Can I see your scouter?" The woman was practically beaming in excitement.
Vegeta stiffened, not sure how to respond. What a weird human she was... "Let me see your... tablet, was it?"
She smiled, holding it out for him to take. He sat down on the bench and she sat next to him. He noticed how she was just about the same height as him- which was nice actually. Carefully, he took out his scouter and they made their exchange.
The woman gasped, looking at the scouter in amazement a she held it up to her eye. Vegeta glanced at her; she was acting as if she had never seen something like before.
"Say woman-" he began.
"Bulma," she cut in, giving him a stern look. "My name is Bulma- use it. What's yours, Princy?"
He glared at her, "Vegeta."
Six months later- early winter
"She wants to come back with us, isn't that great?" Vegeta asked, glancing at Kakarot as they walked down an old gravel road on earth.
They had been visiting the earth almost weekly for months, and both of them had discovered so many things they never dreamed about. Kakarot spent his time with Chi-Chi, learning about her life as the Princess, and each visit he seemed to grow more and more in love with her. She was a human, and he a Saiyan, but he didn't care... She had captured his heart. Vegeta spent his time with Bulma- who was just as fiery as he was! They exchanged technology gadgets, and over time Bulma had come to love Vegeta-Sei, even though she had never been there. She wanted to go, and Vegeta was all too happy to take her with them! She knew so much, and the things she could do to increase his and the others training... Not to mention, she wasn't bad to look at.
"With her brain anything is possible!" Vegeta continued. "She can even build a machine that could give her a tail so my father won't be suspicious. I could just tell him that she was in some sort of accident that gave her hair a weird coloring..."
"Prince Vegeta," Kakarot spoke up, using his friend's formal title because he knew it would get his attention. "I'm not going back..."
"What do you mean?" Vegeta scrunched up his eyebrows in confusion.
"I'm staying here..." Kakarot replied softly. "I found someone, Vegeta. A woman whom I love. I'm going to claim her as my mate as soon as I can."
Vegeta pursed his lips together. Why couldn't Kakarot invite the girl back to Vegeta-Sei like he did with Bulma? But, his friend seemed so determined to stay here on earth, with her. "Are you sure?" He asked softly.
"Yes, I'm sure," Goku told him. "I'm sorry for just now telling you this..."
"I'm guessing you didn't tell your brother, did you?" Vegeta raised a sharp brow.
Slowly, Goku shook his head. "If I did, he wouldn't let me stay."
The corner of Vegeta's lips twitched upwards slightly. "Maybe in a few years, we'll see each other again...?"
Kakarot nodded, "We'll definitely see each other again!" He grinned, a smile that was a trademark in his family
"Take care of yourself, Kakarot..." Vegeta gave him the Saiyan two-fingered salute.
"I will," Kakarot saluted back. "Don't cause too much trouble, Vegeta. I won't be ther to bail you out."
"I'll try," the Prince smirked before he disappeared.

Goku knew Chi-Chi was a human, but he didn't know he was this in over his head... For her, he cut his tail... One of his most precious things. And it was hard for him to do it, Chi-Chi had even told him not to do it, but he didn't want her father knowing he was a Saiyan. He even changed his name.. No longer was he Kakarot, the Saiyan, he was Goku, the human...
And when he met her father, he couldn't believe it... The man was a giant! He wondered what Nappa would look like next to him... The Ox King, as many called the king, may have been a giant, but he had to have been the kindest soul Goku had ever met- other than Chi-Chi. As soon as he met Goku he wrapped his arms around him, hugging him in a tight hug that would have killed him if he weren't Saiyan, and welcomed him into the family with open arms.
The man whose name was now Goku felt foreign within himself. It was amost as if he was another person all together... He felt scared- which was not like a Saiyan to admit- then again, he wasn't a Saiyan anymore... He didn't know what his life would be like now that he was an earthling, but as he glanced at Chi-Chi, who smiled at him so brightly it made his heart pound, he knew he would be okay...

Bulma had dealt with Vegeta for six months, and never had she seen him as worried as he was when she arrived on his planet with him. He rushed her off into a hidden room before anyone could see her. Part of her was thankful since she was scared, but the adventure of living on a new planet made her excited more than anything else. And Vegeta had promised her to teach her how to fly!
With determination set in her eyes she looked around the small office Vegeta had lead her in to work with. She found a sturdy table and there she began to work on the machine that would give her a tail...
...Weeks later it was finished. When Vegeta introduced her to his father she had a long, brown tail wrapped securely around her waist. The only thing setting her off from other Saiyans was her hair coloring and low ki, but Vegeta told her that her ki was something they could easily work on as time passed...
And so, time did just that... Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, months into years. Soon there were little hybrids running around on both planets. On earth, Goku and Chi-Chi's three children; Gohan, who was sixteen, Goten, who was six, and little Pan, who was only two. On Vegeta-Sei, Vegeta and Bulma's two children; Trunks, who was six, and Bulla who was three. The two families told their children the same lies they had told everyone... Their chidlren's heritage was nothing but a lie, but they knew they were doing it for good reasons. For Goku's chidlren, were told they were humans- nothing more, and Vegeta's children were taught that they were full-blooded, prideful Saiyans...
And so life was peaceful... For a while...
One spring day, everything changed... It was like any other day at first. Goku and Chi-Chi woke up, woke their children up, had breakfast together, and was enjoying time together when the Royal Adviser, a man named Ruin, told Goku the horrible news... Frieza wanted him to go on a mission. When the Saiyan was Kakarot, he had been on plenty of missions, but he knew this would be different from any of those... Somehow, he just knew it would be the last time he saw his family... Maybe forever. The secret he had been keeping had been tearing him down, and he had to tell someone...
A day before his leave, Goku took his two youngest children on a walk. He took them for walks frequently, so they chattered away as normal as they walked to the pond- the very pond their parents met at! Goten kept good pace with his father, looking up at his dad with proud eyes and a happy smile as his sister rode on their father's shoulders and played with his hair. When Goku arrived at the bank he stopped, sat down and pulled his two children into his lap.
He took a deep breath, "Once upon a time, there was a young Saiyan..." he began. Time ticked by until he finished with, "I am that Saiyan."
"You're a Saiyan...?" Goten asked in confusion. He had never seen a Saiyan before, though his father had told him many stories about some... Mostly about a young Prince and his friend who always managed to get into trouble...
Goku nodded softly, "And so are you," he told him, causing Goten to gasp in excitement. "Goten, listen carefully, this is a secret that you musn't tell anyone. Pan is too young to remember this, but you must never forget. And you must never tell anyone."
"I won't," promised the young boy though he wasn't sure why it had to be kept a secret. "Are you going to tell Gohan?"
"No, this secret is only between us three," Goku said, not bothering to mention that Chi-Chi knew.
"Papa!" Pan yelled, gaining his attention. She held up a flower in front of her with a giggle, handing it to him. She had already long forgotten the story...
"Panny..." Goku smiled, taking the flower and holding it to his chest. "Thank you..." He stare at his little girl for a few moments, would he really miss her growing up...? He tried to imagine what she'd be like as an adult, and he saw a strong, beautiful young woman who resembled her mother.
"Dad, when will you be coming back from your mission?" Goten asked, glancing up at him.
"I don't know," Goku replied honestly... He just hoped that he was coming back.
Goku left early the next morning, and that was the last time his family saw him...
XxXxX
"Your majesty," Ruin said late one evening as he bowed in front of Chi-Chi in her study where she was at with the children. "I have received some news about your husband."
"What is it?' Chi-Chi asked, standing up slowly. Gohan, who had been reading next to his mother, stopped. They hadn't heard anything about their father in months...
"The King was captured by a Saiyan squad... I'm sorry your majesty, he didn't survive..." Ruin whispered.
Gohan's book was long forgotten as his mother collapsed on the floor with a heartbreaking sob. A wild storm was brewing outside and it was almost as big as the one raging on inside of Gohan. On that day he swore that the Saiyans would pay...
XxXxX
"Sire," a Saiyan maid bowed in front of Vegeta. "I have some distraught news."
"Well," Vegeta raised a brow, getting agitated. He hated it when people took their time to get to the point of something.
"Your friend, Kakarot, has been murdered... The earthlings discovered his secret. They became afraid of his power, so they took his life before he became a threat."
Vegeta sat on his throne for a few seconds before exploding in rage. The maid that told him the news flew into a near wall as Bulma came running into the room frantically. "Vegeta, what is going on?" she asked frantically.
"They killed him, Bulma!" Vegeta seethed, a rage growing deep inside of him.
"Killed who?!" she asked nervously
"Kakarot! Those... Those humans! I should go blow up their damn planet! How dare they kill him!" He was yelled.
Bulma ignored his comment about her home planet. "Then what would Frieza do?" She asked softly, "You know he likes to keep earth for its minerals. Don't make him mad Vegeta, if you do, there's no telling what he would do to Vegeta-Sei..."
Vegeta growled in annoyance as he stomped pass his mate and towards the training area. Humans... They were pathetic and weak, how could Kakarot have allowed himself to lose to them? It baffled Vegeta, yet he knew a fellow Saiyan wouldn't lie about something like that! Not when everyone had known just how close him and Kakarot had been! It only meant that the horrible news had to be true...
XxXxX
A week later, Vegeta got his confirmations about Kakarot's death when he arrived on earth to not find his friend's ki force anywhere. He heard small talk about how the humans had lost their King, but he felt no pity for their lose. That's what they deserved for killing his friend! He wanted to smash the planet to bits, but Bulma's words came back to him. He couldn't'
do that because that would make Frieza angry... He could wait though- one of these days, he would make earth pay.
