The sky was the dirty sort of gray that came with snow, but so far, not even a flake had fallen. It was cold enough for sure though. Cid shivered involuntarily and tried to pull the heavy leather coat up to cover his neck. No such luck.
"Didn't Tifa tell you to wear the long coat when you came out to smoke?" Cid looked up and over at Vincent standing as pretty as you can by the door looking smug in his leathers and cloak. Bastard.
"I'll wear what I want," he said before taking a drag from the cigarette and glaring at Vincent. "You cold?"
"No," Cid arched an eyebrow at Vincent.
"If I didn't know any better, and I don't, I'd think you were lying," Cid said, smirking.
Vincent ignored him, staring up at the sky and looking lost in thought. Cid watched him for a moment and rolled his eyes at the sudden shiver that ran through Vincent's body. Stubborn idiot. He straightened up and disappeared into the house. Ignoring the looks that the women gave him when he tugged the heavy long coat from the chair and then went back outside.
"Fucking idiot," he muttered around the filter of his cigarette as he tossed the coat around Vincent's shoulders. "Just admit you're cold."
Vincent tugged the coat carefully with his clawed hand so that it fell across his shoulders more comfortably, looking thoughtfully at Cid. Cid lit up another cigarette and ignored him, watching as a sudden flake of snow appeared and made its way to the ground, followed by another, until the air was filled with them and they began to blanket the ground quicker than he had expected them to. Vincent's hair was peppered with them and Cid snorted. Vincent glanced sharply at him and he grinned.
"We should go inside before it picks up and we're buried," he said. "Just cause you think you're immune to the cold don't mean you can't get frostbite."
Vincent stared at him as he tossed the cigarette to the ground and stamped it out with his boot. As Cid turned to go inside, Vincent smirked and pulled the coat further around his shoulders before following him inside.
