"Wake up, you lazy mutt!" growled Robinfang, her brother and denmate. "You're late for the dawn watch. Move your tail!" Snowfang left and caught up with Redfoot, her teacher. They headed to the divider between WinterPack and SpringPack.
"They've crossed the divider!" Redfoot barked. Just as she said this, a handsome WinterPack dog crossed the divider. He looked right at Snowfang.
"Meet me tonight, beneath the old oak on the divider," he whispered in her ear.
That night, Snowfang snuck out of the den and out of the city. She headed to the old oak, where the WinterPack dog was waiting for her.
"My name is Oakfang. What's yours?" he asked eagerly. He seemed to be in love with her.
"My name is Snowfang," she answered.
