Who gets the glory

Who stands in the spotlight

Who saves the day

Who receives thanks
I'm always the one
Who manages to get hurt
I'm always the one
Who shoots off my mouth
I'm always the one
Who stands there beside you
I'm always the one
Who never stands out
I wish I had
A moment of my own
I wish I had
A luck of kings
I wish I had
A talent to flaunt
I wish I had
A well-known name
I'm lucky to have
The greatest friend
I'm lucky to have
The caring family
I'm lucky to have
The place I call home
I'm lucky to have
The safety of being unknown
And I wouldn't trade it for only one moment of fame
I'd rather have my dignity
And I wouldn't trade it for any talent
I'd rather have my heart
And I wouldn't trade it for the spotlight
because I know what it's like to be shadowed.
I'm doomed to backstage
And I hide in the shadow of the hero
I feel the pangs of neglect
But this is where I'm needed
And I'll always be the sidekick
