Lacy here. Ok first, go Mac. What he did was so great with Sinclair and Gerrard. They needed to be knocked down a few pegs. Anyway, the trial is over, Mac is cleared and it's the last episode before the end of the season. I'll tell you now so you aren't disappointed at the end. No the proposal is not in this one. Yes the proposal is in the last episode of the season. Yes that is all I'm giving you. Also this isn't going to be all that long. I know how much you all want to read the last episode so this is going to be more of a filler. Have fun.

"I'm glad Mac was cleared." Jess said as she hopped up on the counter next to where Don was making dinner.

"Yeah, though I hear he had some fun with Sinclair and Gerrard first." Don laughed. "Man I wish I had been there to see that."

Jess smiled. "That makes two of us. Those two need to know they can't rule the world just because they have the big jobs."

Don dipped the spoon he was using in the sauce he was making and held it out to Jess.

"Taste this and tell me what you think." he said.

Jess tasted the sauce and smiled. "That is really good Don. Alfredo right?"

Don nodded. "Yup, to go over our pasta and chicken. Nothing like my mom's but I think I do pretty good."

Jess kissed Don. "I think you do too."

Don smiled and finished making dinner with Jess watching him from the counter.

"So things are really ok with you and Mac right?" Jess asked as she set the table.

Don nodded as he pulled two bottles of beer out of the fridge. "Yeah we're good. So the other night when we all went out, what were Stella and Lindsay saying to you that made you blush like that?"

Jess cursed silently as she felt the other night's blush come back. She couldn't tell Don the truth, not until she was sure he was going to propose.

"Not much. They were teasing and it caught me off guard." Jess said.

Don smirked. "Must have been some teasing, cause you're blushing all over again just thinking about it."

Jess shot Don a look. "Careful Detective or this could be the last time you see me blush for a while."

Don, knowing when to back down, held up his hands. "Alright, I'll stop teasing."

Jess placed a kiss on his cheek. "Good boy."

That night, as Don watched Jess sleep, he made a choice. A week. In one week's time he would propose to her. He knew they were both ready and it felt beyond right. In one week, he would make Jess his fiance.
