Wrote this in 2007, found it the other day and figured I may as well submit it... Thanks to my lovely boyfriend for beta reading it for me!
Just yet another fic to add to the valentine's day theme... Some fluff but more just Ed being Ed :P
Disclaimer: I don't own Roy, Ed, or FMA, quite obviously because then many things would be different!
Edward Elric stormed into the office with a scowl, one which deepened when he saw the occupants inside.
"Ah, Fullmetal," Roy Mustang greeted nonchalantly, used to the blond's moods. "We were just discussing romantic valentine day presents, and who may have received them. Care to join us?"
"Psschh, I'll show you romantic," Edward growled, throwing a very large envelope down on top of Roy's desk. He noticed there were a pile of red and pink envelopes and gifts to one side, Lieutenant Hawkeye's paperwork all pushed to the other. Some of the envelopes had been opened, and if he hadn't been so enraged by the sight, Edward might have noticed the scrunched up papers in the wastebasket beside the desk. "And just WHAT are they?" He glared at the offending open envelopes, pounding an automail arm on the desk angrily.
"I thought you could recognize Valentine cards." Roy looked down at the envelope Ed had brought in; seeing his name – or rather, 'Colonel Bastard', but close enough – on it, he picked it up and started to open it.
"What the HELL, Bastard! And don't open that yet!" Edward seemed to be in a particularly foul mood today, Roy observed, and watched with amusement as the young alchemist went to yell his head off at Havoc and Fuery and chase the two startled men out of the office.
"Oh, what's this?" Roy pulled out an A3-sized card from the envelope; glancing at the front he looked up and smirked at Ed over the card, "So, you gave me a big card to make up for your small size?"
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SMALL THEY CAN'T BE SEEN OVER YOUR STACK OF PAPERWORK OR YOUR VALENTINE DAY CARDS, EVEN THOUGH NO ONE COULD BE SEEN OVER THE LATTER BECAUSE YOU HAVE SO MANY!"
Roy looked at the blond curiously. "Jealous, Edward?"
The sudden use of his first-name made Ed pause, but then he shook his head furiously, crossing his arms over his chest indignantly. Roy just sighed, pushing his chair back, then gestured to the boy.
"Come here."
Edward glowered, but grudgingly obeyed with a huff, seating himself right on Roy's lap.
"Someone could walk in," he muttered from habit, then flushed when Roy started to read the inside of his card. "I made it myself," he explained with an embarrassed look, "I couldn't find anything in stores that wasn't disgustingly sweet or so stupidly not funny."
"Well I think this is sweet," Roy grinned, setting down the card and wrapping his arms tight around his lover's small frame. Edward growled, but relaxed with the older alchemist's touch, leaning back when he felt Roy's gloved hand on his hair. "Ed… You're wearing a ribbon?"
He reddened as Roy tugged said ribbon off, letting his long hair hang loose. "I didn't buy you a Valentine's day present. But I figured, well…"
"That you would be my present?" Roy finished for him, pulling Edward around so that the boy faced him, tilting his head down to capture the boy's lips with his own. Ed stretched his neck up to accommodate for their height difference, hands fisting in Roy's uniform.
"And did the Bastard get me anything?" he muttered, pulling back.
"Of course," the older alchemist replied with a particular look in his eyes. Ed's eyes widened as he was suddenly toppled backwards onto the desk behind, Roy's body pinning him down. "Would you like it right now?"
Edward didn't bother to answer, instead grabbing Roy's uniform lapel and pulling him down for another kiss.
