Near sat in the SPK headquarters, just playing with his toys. Halle looked at the computer absentmindedly and saw on Near's advents, that it was his birthday tomorrow. She started planning.

The Next Day~

Mello groaned. Hal had called him last night, and told him that they should get him a present. Mello, of course was pissed.

"Why the hell do we have to get fucking Near a present?" He asked Matt angrily.

"Because he is turning eighteen, which means he is becoming a man."

"That sheep boy could never be a man!"

Matt ignored him, as he pulled out what they were getting Near, and brought it to the counter.

Ms. Lidner didn't tell us what to get him, didn't she? Matt thought.

A few hours later~

Matt and Mello arrived with a box, wrapped up with newspaper, and tied with a ribbon. Hal sauntered over to Mello, and kissed him, while Matt shook Gevanni's and Rester's hand. He gave Halle a hug, and placed the box down.

"I thought you didn't know about my birthday. Or cared." Near droned.

"I don't care-" Mello started.

"But we did know!" Matt interrupted.

"Well open it!" Mello boomed.

Near untied the ribbon and tore off the newspaper gently. He peered down into the box. His eyes widened at the sight, and Rester went up to him, and looked down. He gasped. Which caused Gevanni to come up. his eyes widened. Finally, Halle came up, and looked down. She went up to Matt and smacked him in the face.

"You...got me...a porn magazine?" Near asked.

Mello burst out laughing.

"Well, you did turn eighteen."

Near held up the magazine, and there it was.

"Thank you." He said, flipping through it.

Halle wasn't sure if she should grab it from him.

Matt went to join him.

When Mello went too, she grabbed him.

"Happy Birthday, Near!"

AN: Well, I always expected Mello and Matt to get Near porn.

Happy nineteenth! You are lucky to be alive to celebrate it. Mello and Matt aren't so lucky.

This is kinda a bittersweet moment, because Near doesn't get to get porn from Matt anymore!
