Summary: The fact that Kagome feels something is going on with Inuyasha, Inuyasha ensures Kagome that there's nothing wrong. Kagome/Inuyasha
A/n: I normally write fics that have the oddest pairings, but a friend of mine didn't really like it and requested an Inuyasha/Kagome fic. So, I'm dedicating this fic to my friend.
The Inuyasha gang was camping out again. Kagome Higurashi tossed and turned in her sleeping bag, looking at the gang just to see if she disturbed them in any way.
She didn't.
Kagome quickly and carefully got out of her sleeping bag, placing Shippou in there. She wouldn't want the little kit to actually catch a cold or any of that sort.
Her eyes slightly brimmed with tears. She didn't know why, but she felt herself distancing away from Inuyasha. Every time.
Did he hate her? Was it something she did? He barely talked to her. This whole thing confused her. Inuyasha barely talked to her now, and it seemed that he was annoyed with her. It was as if he was saying "Get Lost". She even talked to Sango about it, but she said that he was being his usual self.
Kagome even forced herself to believe that.
"Kagome," Inuyasha's voice sliced through her thoughts.
Kagome quickly turned to look at Inuyasha, quickly plastering a smile. "What is it, Inuyasha? Did I disturb you at anyway?"
"No," replied Inuyasha. "I can tell that you're sad, so stop acting that you're happy. I know it's me who's causing it."
"Causing what? You didn't do anything."
"Shut up and tell the truth. What did I do? Was it because I haven't let you ride on my back for a long time? Or, the fact that we don't say much to each other? Just tell me, Kagome."
"I promise you, everything is fine."
"Then, why are you crying?" Kagome slowly touched her face, feeling the warm liquid running down like waterfalls. She quickly wiped it away.
She couldn't help it but fall to her knees, crying some more. "I-…" She didn't have any words to say.
She felt something placed on her back. She looked at what it was, only to see Inuyasha's haori. Her watery eyes then darted towards Inuyasha, questionably.
Without anything to say, Inuyasha picked Kagome up, bridal style. "I'm sorry, Kagome." He began to walk to camp. "It's just that. I didn't know how to act around you." As he reached to camp, he jumped into the tree he was perched on earlier.
Kagome sniffled a bit and opened her mouth to say something. "…" Inuyasha placed a finger on Kagome's lips. "Just sleep, don't worry about anything."
"You won't leave me, right?"
"Not even if my life depends on it."
