Need To Do Laundry

"CHRIST, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!?" Jen screeched, tearing all around Nick's house wearing only her trousers and a bra.

He knew he shouldn't laugh but he couldn't help it. "Jennifer, you need to calm down. This isn't the end of the world."

"Nick, we are supposed to be at a crime scene right now and I somehow don't have any clean shirts here! How could that be!? I do laundry, don't I?"

"Actually, I do the laundry. Don't you remember? You like to mock me for how I fold your clothes."

She scowled at him. "You fold my bras in a strange way," she grumbled.

"Anyway, I haven't done the washing in a bit. We were working 'round the clock on that last case, and I'm sorry if I didn't fill our weekend off with housework."

Jen stood in front of him, hands on her hips as she glared at him. "If I had known I didn't have any clean clothes, I'd have done the laundry myself or gone to my place to get more clothes.

A small smirk played on Nick's lips. He put his arms around her waist, linking his hands behind her back. "I didn't want you to go and I didn't want to waste our precious time with chores," he pointed out in a soft voice. With a small smile, he leaned in to pepper soft kisses on her jaw and down her neck.

"We need to get to the crime scene," Jen protested weakly. But she sighed and tilted her head to allow him better access to her skin.

Nick pulled away and took a step back. "You're right. Here, I'll go first in my car. You figure out what to wear and lock up and take your car. We shouldn't arrive together anyway."

Jen agreed and told Nick she'd see him in a little while. Once he was gone, she begrudgingly made a decision about what to wear.

When Jen arrived at the crime scene just a minute behind Nick, he had to work very hard to prevent himself from reacting. She had certainly figured out what to do with the lack of clean blouse.

Nick watched her look to Wolfe for instruction and as soon as their sergeant went to talk to Duncan, Nick sidled up next to her.

"You look good in my shirt," he said quietly, complimenting the way she'd tucked his green button down into her trousers, belted it around her waist, and rolled up the cuffs in a rather fashionable manner.

"It's all I could find."

"I love it," he said with a slight growl.

She stifled her laugh and replied, "Well maybe it's all I'll be wearing later when you get home."

Nick groaned as Jen hurried away from him to canvas the building for witnesses. She turned back to him and winked teasingly, making him laugh happily before he went back to his task as well.
