A/N: Another story! This one is also the prompt from Creative Writing…I really like that class…my friend Abby told me after reading this story that I ripped out her heart. YE BE WARNED.
Disclaimer: I own a TARDIS mug. Does that count?
Words Left Unsaid
She cocked her head and pursed her lips, this Time Lord had no weakness, no name to use to break him, she dug through his mind searching and searching through hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years when suddenly it popped out. A name surrounded by color like none else, tucked safely away in his heart covered with waves of pink and yellow. Images of a human girl with the same color and a large heart, flickered past Lilith's eyes, "Oh, but your heart grows cold. A north wind blows and carries down the distant... Rose?"
As the words left her mouth the Doctor's stance changed. His brown eyes darkened with pain and fury, he pulled his shoulders up and broad and stood to his full height. The Doctor marched forward a leaned over the Carrionite using his height as an intimidating weapon to anyone but a Carrionite, a woman who uses men as puppets. Deep in the pit in her stomach as she stared at the Doctor she felt thousands of words spilling into her mind, just from meeting his staring eyes.
"Oooh, big mistake! Because that name keeps me fighting!" The Doctor warned her. Lilith stood beneath the tall man in a position that would terrify a lesser creature but she felt no fear. She felt no fear except for the tiniest shaking in the very bottom of her stomach. The place where she found words and created new ones and patterns, that sense of instinct every living thing has. The Carrionites instinct was screaming for her to get out, he has no words, he only has emotions. Dangerous and powerful emotions all directed at his missing Rose.
In a split second Lilith realized many things. If Rose was there she would have been a weakness. She was not. If Rose was there Lilith would have the upper hand. She did not. If Rose was there the Doctor would been happy. He was not. If Rose was there Martha would not be. She was there. If Rose was there the words would have power. The words did not.
Looking into the eyes of the most dangerous and broken man in the entire universe Lilith realized something else. The most dangerous man in the universe, the last Time Lord, the Lonely Angel, the Oncoming Storm, was deeply in love with a little pink and yellow flower. A little pink and yellow flower named Rose. A little pink and yellow Rose who was trapped far away with no chance of return. With all her soul Lilith believed that words said are the most powerful things in the universe but as she looked into the eyes of the Time Lord she learned, sometimes the ones left unsaid are stronger.
"I love you."
"Quite right, too. And I suppose...if it's my last chance to say it...Rose Tyler..."
