Join America and England as they journey to become the very best. Or at least America does.
" Iggy! Come on we have to gooooooooooooooo! The Event starts soon! " The personification of the United Kingdom was many things, he was even patient. But his boyfriend America was dancing on his last nerve. Alfred had woken him up on a Saturday at six in the morning to take a road trip. Well Alfred had said it was a road trip but once they were a good a good half hour from the house, he finally decides to tell Arthur that they're actually going to some park because a huge Pokemon event was happening. The rest of the trip was filled with Arthur's rants and Alfred saying that the park was beautiful and how Arthur was going to love it.
The pair finally arrived in the township of Galloway, New Jersey. (This is a real place, you can Google it. I had too.) After getting off the parkway the pair soon arrived at The park. "Patriot lake... " Iggy read the sign while Alfred looked around. There was what had to be hundreds of people walking around the park. Many were in groups of four or five. Each group was on their phones probably playing that Pokemon game Alfred had dragged Arthur all the way to New Jersey to play.
Alfred grabbed Arthur by the arm and led him around the park, thus allowing Arthur a chance to see more and stop getting lost in his thoughts. The pair walked around the park a few times, Alfred Yelling every time he caught something new and Arthur kindly telling him to shut his trap. They didn't notice how late it was until Arthur heard Alfred's stomach growl.
"Any place around here that we can get something to eat?" Arthur asked offhandedly. Alfred just smiled sheepishly and took out his phone. "Do you want chain food or something more local?" Arthur was caught off guard by the question. Usually Alfred just picked McDonalds© and that would be the end of that. For the simple reason that it was his choice, Arthur smiled.
The pair had walked from the park to the small shopping center close by. The had decided to have pizza for lunch and were heading to a shop called Napolis, it apparently was well review by the locals. After ordering Alfred and Arthur talked. I mean they usually talked and everything but this time they really talked. Arthur brought up things about Alfred that bugged him and Alfred gladly agreed to working on his flaws if Arthur worked on his. The two then moved on to other things, life in general was a main topic but Alfred tried to throw in some other topics for discussion as well.
After lunch the two walked back to the park, there was a subtle change between them. Of course to any outside observer it was apparent, but to the two of them it was a bit less. They still acted like they normally did but they understood each other much better now. Of course they went back to pokemon hunting but they talked to each other more now.
"Guess we should head home soon, right?" Arthur commented offhandedly. Alfred shrugged then headed toward the car. The two thought the day had gone well even if it had started off annoying and in a state of bickering. Alfred and Arthur were looking forward to more days like this. Just with less yelling.
