Hanging on by a Thread

Disclaimer: I don't own Higher Ground and the characters.
Author's Note: This is a very sad, one chapter story. I'm Lauren's sister. I'm only 10 years old so if you think it's a bad story i don't want any bad reviews. This story is mainly about Daisy.

"Daisy!" David exclaimed.
"What now?" she asked with a shrug.
"Why do you keep running from me?" he asked.
"Just let me think about your question," she answered.
"I'll give you all the time you need," he said.
"What question?" a voice asked. It was Ezra. Then Daisy ran off.
"Look what you did!" David yelled.
"You didn't ask her what I think you did, did you?" Ezra asked.
"It all depends, what's the question?" David asked.
"You wanna go out with her don't you?" Ezra asked.
"So what if I do? It's a free country you know," David said.
"I asked her the same question yesterday and now she has to decide between the two of us," Ezra said.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Now you won't have a girlfriend," David laughed.
"Well, I didn't have one anyway, but that's not the point," Ezra said. (David and Ezra continue fighting)
Girls' Dorm

Daisy walks in crying softly.
"What's wrong, Dais?" Shelby asked concerned for a change.
"It's David and Ezra, they both like me and I don't know which one to choose. So, I kept running from David and he kept finding me and asking why I kept running from him," Daisy said. Shelby hugged her.
"I know how you feel," Shelby said.
"You do? Has this ever happened to you?" Daisy asked.
"Well, uh... not exactly but I still know how you feel," Shelby said. Daisy's frown turned into a small smile. Then a knock at the door interupted their thoughts. It was Peter.
"Daisy, you have a phone call," he said. Daisy got up and walked towards the door

15 Minutes Later

Daisy walked into the dorm crying again.
"Oh no, this one can't be good," Shelby sighed. Daisy sniffed.
"My dad's in the hospital from drinking," she said softly.
"This just isn't your day," Juliette smiled and thought she was so hillarious.
"Shut up, toothpick," Shelby snapped.
"Ugh," Juliette frowned then left. Kat followed her. Now it was just Shelby and Daisy, alone.
"I need some time alone to think," Daisy said walking out the door.
"Okay," Shelby said. Now it was just Shelby.

2 Hours Later

"Have you seen Daisy?" Shelby asked almost every person at Horizon. Their answers were usually 'No' or 'Who's Daisy?' Shelby couldn;t give up now.
"Hey! I know now!" Shelby exclaimed. She ran off towards a cliff and found Daisy sitting on a rock and playing with a stick.
"Is this where you've been the past two hours?" Shelby exclaimed. Daisy nodded.
"Will you do me a favor?" Daisy asked.
"Sure, what?" Shelby asked.
"Tell David and Ezra that I'm sorry," she said.
"Sure, but why can't you do it?" Shelby asked.
"I'll be gone," she said quietly.
"What?!" Shelby exclaimed confused.
"It's time for me to move on and see my mom," Daisy said. Daisy stood up. She walked towards the edge of the cliff.
"My whole life is hanging on by a thread so now it's time for me to move on," she said. Shelby was crying now.
"You can't do this! I won't let you!" she yelled.
But it was too late, Daisy had already jumped off the cliff. Shelby's best friend was gone.
