Outside was dark and as she stared across the grounds of Hogwarts she saw figures, tiny, like ants on a foot path as you walked, but they weren't ants, nor were they any form of beast. People, they were people, they had to be. As a prefect, it was her duty to find out what students were doing after dark and so she spun on heel and turned walking out of the hall she was standing in and rushing towards the doors leading outside.

Red hair flared out in flowing waves behind her as she rushed off, emerald eyes darted around scouting for a teacher, or another prefect, despite her ability with magic, it never hurt to have someone with you when you went out hunting down rule breakers. Though, like usual, she was the only one at the scene. Shaking her head she walked outside looking around quickly she ran towards the empty grounds for the students, she knew they were students she would have been informed otherwise...

The figures were up ahead. They'd seen her and stopped. She didn't know why, usually people ran at the sight of a prefect, though, they could have been some of the daring ones. The slim witch reached around felt her wand slowly getting ready to withdraw it, there was no reason to be hasty, students often tried to get away with things by claiming that the prefects had threatened them.

"Lily?" Her name.

She blinked a few times in the darkness before one of the figures spoke a simple charm, "lumos."

A dull light filled the area and she sighed softly in relief as well as annoyance.

"Oh, it's just you..." Lily spoke softly, "I should have known, you'd be the only ones not to disappear if you'd seen me..." She rolled her eyes.

"Aww... So, you're not happy to see me then?" James spoke as he ran his fingers through his unruly hair with a small smirk. So...Slytherin of him, just not in an evil way.

"No James. I'm not. What are you doing out here?" She glanced between them all, just the three tonight, Remus, Sirius and of course, James. Peter must have passed out or something. He hadn't exactly been the most energetic person to start with.

"Nothing Lily-Sweet, just a run... You're welcome to join us..?" James grinned.

"No. I won't be joining you, you'll all go up to the tower before I have to take points, I really, don't want to take points from my own house."

"Aww.. But Lily. Come on, it's us! You can let us off!" Sirius whined.

"Nah, guys, no need to stay out, we don't want Lily to feel responsible for letting us off..."

Damn Remus, no doubt trying to use reverse psychology, but no, she wouldn't fall for that!

"Thank you Remus, very nice off you to respect me like that..." Remus looked down slightly after receiving punch in the shoulder from Sirius. Of course, James seemed to fall for what she'd said.

"Yeah, Sirius, let's go... Hey, Lily, want to go to Hogsmeade this weekend?" James asked as he smiled toothily at her trying to win her over with the charm he'd used on so many people before.

"No James I won't be joining you this weekend, or ever. Just go to the castle... It's cold out here and I don't want to waste anymore time out here" Lily spoke clearly, she bit back a smile, routine they'd gotten in, of her finding them out after curfew and James asking her out actually entertained her a bit. Not that she'd admit to it of course.

She stood there her arms folded neatly across her chest as James sighed and the trio of Marauders walked away and towards the castle, Sirius grumbling at the other's quietly. With satisfaction she started to follow them a smile finally gracing her lips.
