Austin

Ally

Song

I came in humming and running (possible rhyme?) with a tune in my head. Finally, after about 2 hours, I had a song for Austin to sing.

You say you know love, but you are just reflecting words you hear, no wires in your veins could give you any sense of pain or fear, it's just another lie, it's just another calculation, and when the power's out, we're just another old sensation.

This blood keeps me alive, but what is it that runs through you? Electricity and wires, dictating everything you do, you tell me that you hear me, and all your memories are you, but how do I know you don't just feel what you've been told to feel?

We run around the rules, we run around the rules, we run around the rules, round and round, two by two, we run around the rules.

There's water in your eyes, and I know I'm the reason that it's there, but still I don't feel bad, because I know with you there's more I'll expect, and just behind your eyes, there's switches that can turn back on, to clear away today, till all your memories are gone.

We run around the rules, we run around the rules, we run around the rules, round and round, two by two, we run around the rules.

We run around the rules, we run around the rules, we run around the rules, we run around the rules, round and round, two by two, we run around the rules.

Gosh, the lyrics were so true about Austin and me. He says he knows love, but he's never dated any girl. He always calm, no matter what happens. At Sonic Boom, the electricity isn't the best at night, so if the power goes out and we're there, it's just natural to us.

Sometimes, I wonder what keeps Austin alive. I'm guessing electricity and wires, because how else could he always be so perfect? It's like they control him, but they've short circuited with me. He says he hears me, and I know he does. All of his best memories he says are of his performances and me. He's so sweet to me, but I wonder if it's all for his career. But I highly doubt it.

The chorus is so true. I let him eat in the store, but no one else. He had me breaking rules when I stole a goose!

The third verse was semi-true. At one point I did snap at him, and he did let a few tears fall but not many. I'm so glad we made up. The next line was more his POV, because he doesn't hold it against me, but I hate myself for it. The next line is also his POV. I've cried to him before, and if I do, he doesn't mind, like he's expecting it. Next line is my POV. I swear, there are switches in his eyes that can turn mine back on. Austin's POV, again, if there's a memory associated with my crying, he just tells me to forget about it, and I do.

Like I said, we break rules a lot. I didn't before he came along, but now I do.

So I sang him the song. He's the only one I can sing in front of. That's right. I can't even sing in front of Trish!

"Wow Ally! This is yet another one of your famous hits! How do you do it?"

"It's just a gift, Austin! Like yours of being able to sing perfectly in front of a crowd."

"Guess so, Ally-Gator. Ok. How do I say this? I need to tell you something."

Those are words I never like to hear.

"W-what?"

"I really like you. In fact, I think I might even love you. I have since I met you. Do you feel the same way?"

Truthfully, I did. But I can't date him! Dating him means publicity, which I can't handle. That was my #1 rule. But I decided I might as well tell him I do to, since he just admitted his feelings for me.

"Same here."

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Of course!"

"Awesome! Want to go out with me on a date tonight?"

"Sure!"

I'm so glad I wrote that song. Now, we're both 26 with 1 kid, Evangeline.

Who said you had to obey rules?
