The Fall. Genre:Tragedy. Summary: The attack on Hyrule Castle by Zant from a soldier's point of view. LOZTP.
We thought we were prepared. We thought we were the best of the best. We thought we had the best equipment the world could offer. We thought we had them outnumbered. We thought we could handle anything.
We thought wrong.
I stood in the throne room with the others, weapon ready and Zelda stood behind us soldiers, her blade ready as well.
Suddenly, smoke poured through the doors, clouding my view. I could vaguely see horrible black creatures twice my size run through the smoke and throw soldiers around like rag dolls. The man in front of me charged at one of the beasts, sword slashing madly, but the monster simply swatted him out of the way, sending him crashing into a column.
My blood boiled. I charged at the beast and managed to push it back a few feet. Seeing this, I became more motivated and continued my attack.
I didn't see the second monster until it was too late.
It jumped onto me and crushed me under it's foot, probably breaking a few ribs. It didn't kill me, but simply stayed there, seeming to enjoy my misery.
The smoke cleared, and a man clad in strange robes and a lizard-like helmet strode in arrogantly with two of the beasts at his sides.
"You must now make your choice, Princess," he said in a slightly amused tone. "Surrender or , yes, a choice for all the land and people of Hyrule. Life? Or Death?"
Zelda stood in shock for a moment. "N-no..." I managed to choke out. "Don't... do it..." The beast stomped on my chest, and the next thing that came from my mouth was a bloody cough.
Zelda looked at the man with an expression of pure hate, but dropped her sword. "I surrender," she said.
The beast stomped on my chest once more, and as all went black, the last thing I heard was the man's terrible laugh.
END.
