Trunks' Crazy Dream

Trunks had just put Tai and Sage to bed and was about to join Marron in the bedroom when he accidentally bumped into the TV, turning it on. Bleach is on, he thought. I haven't seen that in a while. He watched it for a while and when it was over he went to bed. Pretty soon he fell asleep.

Trunks awoke to the sound of screaming. He ran out into the living room and saw a hooded figure tying up his wife and children. "What the heck do you think you're doing?" he demanded.

"What does it look like I'm doing, playing dress-up with your family?" retorted the figure. "I'm tying them up so I can take them back to hell with me, baka."

"Not if I can help it," Trunks crouched into his fighting stance.

"Hey! I'm in no mood for fighting," said the figure. "But I am in the mood for riddles."

"Oh yeah? What do you have in mind?"

"I'll ask you three riddles and if you can answer all three you can have your family back. If not, they're mine. It's that simple."

"Fine. Bring it."

"Okay… What's black and white and red all over?"

"That's easy. It's a newspaper."

"Correct. Maybe you aren't such a baka."

"Hey!"

"What's goes on your foot but isn't a shoe?"

"A sock?"

"Look who gets smarter everyday. Now, who rides in a taxi but never pays?" (sounds familiar to you?)

"My father?"

"I take back that comment about you being smart. It was a taxi driver. I guess your family is mine. Now I have some more friends!"

"Wait! You said I had to answer all three riddles. You never said anything about getting them right."

"So you found a loophole. Maybe you are smart after all. I guess you can keep your family."

"Yes."

"But you can only get one. The other belong to me."

"Nani?! You've got to be kidding me! I'd rather die than do that!"

"Okay, if that's your choice then now you're dead." The figure snapped his fingers and Trunks became swallowed up by darkness.

"Ka-chan, is Tou-chan okay?" Tai asked his mother.

"I think he's having a crazy dream," Marron replied.

"Wake him?" suggested Sage.

"No. He'll get up on his own."

With perfect timing, Trunks bolted awake, looking around the room wildly. He sighed with relief when he saw his family staring at him.

Pulling them close he said, "Don't ever make me choose between you guys; it could kill me."

"Okay… Honey, don't watch anime late at night. It makes you have weird dreams."

Moral: Late-night anime can cause you to have weird dreams. Trust me. It happens.
