In their group everyone was an odd one out. Teyla was the only woman, John was the only one who was part of the military, Ronon was the only one who didn't have family and Rodney was the only person who could recite pi to the twentieth decimal.

Usually it didn't show, they hung out together, frowned at the latest blob that the mess hall tried to sell as pudding and laughed when Torren had done something incredibly cute again.

But right now one difference was very glaring, literally. The team was standing in front of Todd and Ronon was the only one with a scowl on his face.

John would normally attribute that to his general attitude but not this time, there was a real reason for this: John had stolen his moment.

Not that he regretted it, far from it, he was glad that his friend never had to go on that suicide mission, but it had taken away something the rest of the team had experienced.

John had broken out of prison with him, had even slept peacefully while the wraith had stood watch, looking out for Kolya's men.

Rodney had worked with him, side by side, seeing and grudgingly admiring his skills with the computer, which had turned to pure thankfulness when he had saved Jeannie.

Teyla had made the experience of him being the only person she could trust in a thousand mile radius. That had left a mark.

"It's okay Ronon, you'll get your chance", he said out loud, aware that everyone would misinterpret it.

Ronon smirked.
