In her dream, Kairi was looking at Sora. Sora was by himself (she figured) in another world but she didn't know where. He was sitting on the shore of a beach looking out at the sea that stretched forever behind their imagination. Kairi was so far away from Sora and didn't notice, at first, how his face lit up. It lit up as if someone was shining a light on Sora's face, and fear crept up from Kairi's spine to her eyes, choking her heart. The light shining on Sora's face was coming from a door that was opening in the middle of the sea.
Sora got up and started to walk to the light. He kept walking, walking, and Kairi with a fright that Sora was being pulled away. Kairi started to run towards Sora but couldn't get anywhere close to him as he just kept walking. Kairi called to him but he didn't answer . As soon as he gets close to the door, Sora vanishes and that's when she woke up.
Kairi lost Sora once and she didn't like re-living it...or dreaming it either. It always pains her to see him go, but she as determined to keep him here with her. Kairi looked up to the sky and saw the setting sun. She made a small prayer to herself and headed for her boat. She looked back once and said, "Hope to see you again some day, Sora." She craned her neck to whistle, then settled in her boat and rowed away. Forgetting she left her Papu fruit behind.
