He was living it again. Living his worst holiday. All again. Oh how he hated that dreadful day, and now it's here again…
I was looking franticly for Lily. I wanted to dance with her, dance on the slow dance that signaled the ball was over. It was my last chance; I had to do it we were graduating from Hogwarts later in the year. Oh Lily where are you? I shouted in my mind. Finally I spotted the lovely red-head.
I was approaching her; I needed to ask her to dance with me on the final dance of the ball. She saw me and shot me a kind – but cold – glare, but I just pushed my jet black hair out of my face and kept moving forward.
"Hello Lily! Would you – that is if you have not already been taken – mind being my dancing partner for the last dance of the ball?" I asked.
"I'd love to, but James already had asked me. Sorry Severus," was her response. I knew she didn't mean it.
"But that James danced with you for the past five dances! Please Lily, please? One dance, please?" I implored.
She looked at me with those green eyes which I loved and said, "Severus, James already asked me. I said yes. Now you better get going before he comes back."
"'You better get going before he comes back.'" I mocked. "Back from what? Dancing with another female?"
She smacked me in the cheek. I could feel the burn, the burn of anger, sham, and truth. I knew now that I lost her – forever.
"Fine, dance with him! Like I care!" I retorted. I stormed off.
I turned the corner and stayed there. The dance started and I could see tat smug look on that disgusting Potter's face. A tear fell from my eye while looking at the joyful expression on her face. A knot formed in my stomach, my throat tightened, and a rush of tears flew from my face. "Good-bye Lily," I murmured to myself. I headed back to the Slytherin House…
Snape woke with a start screaming, "No! Lily! Don't go!"
