Okay first off I would like to say that I'm not responsible for literary works, which originated from Spanish, Geometry, and/or Study hall. Those classes bring out the worst in people and have led me to write poetry, yes you heard me, poetry. Poetry is good as long as it isn't mine. This is part one of a trilogy of poems I wrote to explore Kenshin's character.

Disclaimer: I do not own Rurouni Kenshin; it belongs to Sony, Nobuhiro Watsuki, and whoever else owns it.

Songs of Life Trilogy: Shinta's Song

I've always been an outcast

Scorned for my eyes and hair

The day my parents died

I bade the village farewell

They sold me off like livestock

Caring only for their gain

With the slavers I met three true friends

And at the hands of bandits

They were killed the next day

They died to protect me

They instructed me to live

Then I met my master

He gave me an ancient art

He raised me in his own gruff way

I saw him as an arrogant jerk

One day I left his mountain

Bent on changing the world

And with the first blood my blade spilled

Shinta was no more

Well please review and tell me what you thought.
