Prologue: A Pokémon Blight
At some point during the course of these Pokémon Chronicles you may wonder what happened to the most favored Pokémon of our three heroes, and Meowth of the infamous Team Rocket. Here their tales will be explained, as well as the increasingly alarming political situation in the world of Pokémon.
One day Ash and his companions, bloody from the battle to escape from a prison in a third world country, realized that they had yet to pay a visit to their old friend Professor Oak. They Journeyed to his lab to rest up and heal. Little did they know that his disposition and the nature of his work had greatly changed since they had last met with him two years ago. Oak now participated in genetic experiments which sought to combine the DNA of both humans and Pokémon. Oak was convinced that he could create a hybrid which had the ability to utilize both characteristics of Pokémon attacks, and human consciousness. Oak believed that Ash's Pikachu could be the key to this achievement due to its extraordinary self awareness that few other Pokémon possessed. This resulted in the kid napping of Ash's most valued Pokémon.
Professor Oak had created a trail of female Pikachu urine from Ash's guest room to a rubber crate in his lab. When Pikachu caught the scent of this seductive smell in the middle of the night, he followed it and was trapped in the cage. The next day Ash searched everywhere for his beloved companion but the search was futile.
Oaks experiment to combine the Pikachu with a human was a failure as it resulted in a delirious creature which called its self Lady Gaga. Oak studied the creature in his spare time. He notices strange trends. It often wore random objects from his lab, calling it art. One day in its confusion it ran away saying that it wanted to find its little monsters. The specimen was never to be seen again by any of our heroes.
Togepi's ending was less complex but equally cruel and unfortunate. The heroic trio had run out of food in their packs, and was therefore forced to search for it elsewhere. Their state of starvation had incited strange behaviors in everyone. Misty began to speak to the ghosts she was certain were following her. Ash attempted to jump into a wood chipper in his delirium. Quite fortunately there were no wood chippers in the wilderness.
Brock had developed a sleep walking syndrome. One night while he was sleepwalking Brock sought out a food source. Mistaking Togepi for a normal egg, he cracked the Pokémon open and put him in a pan over a scalding flame. When the others awoke they found well prepared omelets. They soon began to eat their well deserved meal. Not one of them gave pause to the origin of their breakfast until Misty asked, "Has anybody seen Togepi?"
The less notable of our heroes Pokémon died in equally gruesome ways. This included Brock's Heracross and Team Rockets most treasured Pokémon, Meowth.
The country was quickly becoming a tyranny. There was increasing rigidity in laws and new oppressive laws that were completely unnecessary. The government's police and security increased and laws were brutally enforced. It was obvious that the country's political state was declining.
