Nya's POV
I slipped my blue dress over my head and looked in the mirror. Had I changed? My hair was a little longer now; my arms and legs more toned and my face was plainer than it had ever been before. Ever since I became a ninja, I had completely lost interest in doing any makeup or putting in the effort to even look good - even my signature red lipstick had lost it's appeal. Looking great meant little when you had the task of saving Ninjago. But tonight I wanted to look my best, for Jay. That feeling of butterflies in my stomach whenever I thought about him hadn't changed.
Of course, he wouldn't mind however I looked. He always says I look perfect, that I am perfect. I'm so lucky to have him, even though God knows I don't deserve him. Everyday, the weight of the whole love triangle ordeal weighs heavily on my heart. But tonight, I'm going to tell him everything: my feelings, my guilt and my regret - before it eats me inside.
I added a touch of colour on my cheeks, a good coating of red on my lips, and some blue eyeliner to finish off. I was just wearing my bracelet and blue heels when I heard a polite knock on the door.
"Come in, " I said, my heart skipping several beats.
But it was only Cole asking to borrow a wrench. I asked him what he needed it for and he replied that he was helping Ronin fix R.E.X.
"You look nice, " he added.
"Thanks, I'm going out, that's why, " I explained.
"And you thought I was Jay, didn't you? " He said, flashing me a cheeky grin.
"Yeah, and if you don't mind, I have a date to get to! " I said, pulling him a face.
It felt nice talking to Cole normally again. The awkwardness had all melted away now. We were still very close, but any 'love' we may have felt was gone. I guess we just convinced each other that it was a crush - nothing more.
After handing him a monkey wrench, I left to find Jay.
