"Just GO!" Claire screamed beating her small fists against the large figure of Quil Attera. Tears streamed down her face ruining her make up, not that she cared about that right now. Her anger was the only thing keeping her coherent.

"I HATE you!"

"I can't leave you like this. I'm sorry for hurting you," Quil calmly said rubbing circles on her back, trying to sooth her. His heart sank at her angry words knowing that he was the cause of her tears.

"But I'm not sorry for what I did," Quil declared through clenched teeth.

"It was just a kiss," Claire stammered through her sobs. "Why did you have to hit him?" She pulled her face away from his massive chest and looked him in the eyes. Her first real date was abruptly ruined when Quil pulled her date from out of his car after the shared a goodbye kiss and proceeded to threaten and beat him at the same time.

"Claire, he had his hands all over you," Quil muttered angrily, his hands shaking lightly.

"So?" Claire quipped back.

"So?" Quil said with venom, "Claire you don't deserve to be manhandled by some inexperienced boy."

"As opposed to being treated like a fragile doll by you," Claire spat back. "I'm going to be 18 soon and can therefore make my own choices about who I get to kiss."

"Claire."

"Seriously Quil," Clair ranted on ignoring his interjection. "You're not my father and it's my choice…"

"Claire!" Quil yelled breaking her speech.

"What?" Claire asked in exasperation.

"I want you to choose me," Quil murmured his eyes dropping to the wood floor of Claire's room.

"Choose you?" Her eyes narrowed in confusion.

"Yes instead of him. I love you Claire. So much that I couldn't stop myself from hurting him for trying to take you away from me," Quil confessed in a pained voice. "I know that you have the right to choose him over me, but I…"

His speech was interrupted as Claire grasped his shirt and stopped his lips with hers silencing him. Only then he understood what she meant, she had chosen. She had chosen him.
