America is changed in a dystopian world controlled by a Monarcal system. The only way to create a better furture for one self is by becoming a God.

Prologue: Winter is Coming

It was early October what meant that the Winter was coming. Our home is not prepared for such a tremendous cold. Last year we barely survived. But now things are different, my father is really ill. He is recovering from a heart attack that almost killed him. It was probably from all the stress he was having for working double shifts at the tire shop. You see my stepmother is too fragile to work and the lumberjacking money that me and my stepbrother make is not nearly enough. The reason for that is that we cannot make long hours because we have to go to school, our parents insisted that we finish High School so we can go on scholarships to University's were we can build on a better future. There was only one way too gain enough money for the winter preparations, The God Couple Games.

The God Couple was a game show with a grand price of 10 million dollars. With 15 other couples you have to fight to the death and if you and your partner survive you will be crowned God Couple and get the money. If your partner already have died you get a WishCard, what means you get ONE wish and that wish can be anything. You can wish for even more money, power, a better social standing, freedom or anything you want. You understand that only people who were desperate for money would participated in this sociopathic form of entertainment. Finn and I've already signed us up. There are many rules to be selected. The most prominent one is that you've to be attractive and you've to have a dramatic back story. Because that is the formula for good ratings, sex and drama.

It was a difficult decision, our parents were against it and that was logic, that changes that we survived were small, but staying in our home in the Mid-Western Winter would probably killed us too. It was today when our family get the letter that we were selected as one of the 16 couples.
