The wind howled fiercely and the sun was slowly falling on the horizon. It was snowing. The RED Heavy re-chained a sign on a log cabin-like building. The sign read MANN CO SHIPPING, but the word CLOSED was stamped in bright red over it. A quick flash of lightning lit up the sky. The Heavy knew the time had come. He turned away from the sign, and started walking…
The RED Scout was contemplating. He was sitting on crates next to a building in an abandoned town. He thought about his Ma. What if he didn't come home? How would she react? At least his older brothers would take care of her. He just wished he could say goodbye, at least one last time. He threw his baseball to himself as he thought of this. He heard footsteps. He looked up and saw the Heavy. The Heavy nodded to him, and a silent agreement went through them. 'It's time,' Scout put on a confident grin, picked up his bat and baseball, and started walking…
The RED Engineer was softly strumming on his guitar. He was sitting on a chair in front of a rustic house. He thought about his wife, and how he might never see her again. He pushed that thought aside, knowing that that was not the time for sorrow. Now was the time for fighting. He looked up at the sound of footsteps. The Heavy and Scout were walking. Without a second thought, he laid down his guitar, and stood up. Then he grabbed two shotguns, loaded them, and started walking…
"'ll raise yae two chips," the BLU Demoman said to the BLU Soldier. The two were playing Poker, waiting for their doom to come. The Soldier took a sip of his whiskey then set the bottle back down. The lights flickered, and the two looked up confused. Then the doors slammed open in their barn-like building. A bright light shone in, and the pair shielded their eyes. The RED Heavy, Scout, and Engineer stood at the door. The Heavy held a shotgun pointed at the two. He had a malicious grin on his face. The two thought it was the end. The Soldier had hoped to go down in battle, like a real man. The Demoman had hoped to go down drinking. Sadly, his drink had fallen down when the doors slammed open. It felt like an eternity to the BLUs. They just wanted it to be over. But then, the Heavy surprised them. He spun the gun around, the barrel facing him, and threw the gun to the Demoman. He caught it, looked down at it, and grinned. He loaded it, stood up, and walked out into the snow. The Soldier dropped his cards, and started walking…
Many footsteps could be heard outside his small, temporary accommodations. The BLU Medic knew it was time to face the menace too. He stroked his bird Archimedes' feathers one last time, before walking out into the snow, Syringe Gun in hand. And he started walking…
The group of five had made it to an icy field, with a small rocky mountain in front of them. Atop the mountain was a gray carrier tank of unimaginable size. More lightning struck. The Soldier messed with the pin of his grenade. The Scout blew a bubble with pink bubblegum. The Medic spun his Syringe Gun. The Demoman adjusted the sights on his pipe bomb launcher. They all waited anxiously. Then the carrier opened. And humanoid machines started pouring out.
"YAHHHH!" The Heavy yelled as a battle cry and ran forward with his shotgun. The rest of the group followed. And the machines started walking…
