Disclaimer: I am not Matsumoto-sensei, therefore I do not own "Yumeiro Pâtissière" or anything related to this manga, game and anime.
Author's Note: Just a thought I had when I saw the preview for the 48th episode of this series. Damn, I love Henri's evil expression there! xD
"Liar"
Henri Lucas is a liar; a person who likes to deceive others. Tennouji Mari, and all the other people who admires him like Amano Ichigo, is being constantly lied upon.
Tennouji never suspects him because, truth be told, he is her role model, her sensei and her star prince. But . . . she starts to question Henri's whole-being the moment her eyes lay upon two people, on a date, arms entangled and smiles plastered on their faces as they stroll around the city of Paris.
It is nothing more, Tennouji thinks, but her heart tells her otherwise. They have just met here coincidentally. Nothing more . . . nothing more . . .
But she is proven wrong.
Something is going on between Henri-sensei and the leader of Team Francois. She realises that the moment Henri's soft lips came in contact with Francois' delicate cheek; to show either affection or to congratulate her, Tennouji is sure it is both of them.
As if that isn't enough to crush her beloved feelings, Henri gives her a sneer look which disappears as quickly as it surfaced.
Tennouji's heart sinks further. As if her heart isn't torn enough; as if she isn't embarrassed enough with her ungraceful action in the semi-finals; as if that isn't enough to torture her, Henri makes it worse by coming in to the room unnoticed where she, Ichigo and Koshiro are talking about him. Henri lets his presence known by stepping at the part of the room where the moonlight shines and gives her a sinister look, tells her she isn't good enough—that she, Tennouji Mari, one of his best students, is pathetic—and completely destroys her dream to become a pâtissière.
She is offended; completely and utterly offended that all of the respect she had for him is gone in an instant.
So, your friendly nature is just a front? You're actually a person who is deceitful, nasty and arrogant? Why? Why lie to the world? Why do you have to be so mean? Why lock your true self away and show me now, of all times?
Why?
Tennouji lets the tears she has been holding back flow. She doesn't care about him, anymore. She doesn't want to have anything to do with him, anymore. No more . . .
At that moment on, her heart turns cold on him. Her expression no longer holds the same warmth she shows him.
She stares at him blankly, only one thought crossing her mind:
Henri-sensei is a liar, and I've come to realise that.
