This is from Stages of Hope by Kayly silverstorm. It is stunning, I recommend it! The link is on my profile, or will be soon. Hope you like, might want to read her story first, though. I own nothing, it all belongs to J.K. Rowling, and the plotline belongs to Kayly. Enjoy!

Promise

The Prince that grew up with no love met two people that became his most trusted friends. One was a girl who had grown up in an enchanted castle made of books, a refuge where she went when the world was cold and lonely. The other, a boy, was surrounded by a red sea and he never truly learned to swim. He promised himself he'd learn to swim, one day.

Now, the girl and the boy hid behind the sea and the books, refusing to show each other the hearts they had for each other. The girl and the boy fought, believing the other hated them. This was not true, of course. But after many years they finally let their hearts drift over to each other and they finally allowed themselves to love each other. The boy promised the girl he'd love until the end of his days.

Their friend, the Prince, had a destiny that even the Gods daren't speak of. The girl and the boy knew it but did not back down. So together with the Prince's dancing love, they set out on a journey. The boy promised the Prince and his love he'd never leave.

Around the friends, their loved ones died, one by one. Even the Prince's love finally stopped dancing, falling still and cold in his arms, tearing his heart to pieces. Yet the trio stood firm until two were captured. The boy promised the girl the Prince would come after them. They'd escape, he said with hope.

The girl and boy still stood firm under the teeth and claws of the monster. The boy stood over her, glaring in the face of the monster. His loyal heart would not betray his friends. They were all he had left. He promised her he'd always love her. He promised they'd make it through. He promised they'd live. But when the sun rose and the girl could see through her pain and fear, she saw the boy no longer swam. Her castle of books was gone, and she faced the truth as her gaze rested upon the boy whose lips wouldn't utter anymore promises.
