Nothing goes the way it's supposed to anymore. Beck and Jade broke up, Tori and Andre still aren't together, and Robbie and Cat are one step closer to disappearing forever every hour that went by.
So, one day, Cat feels so overwhelmed, she cuts first period and starts crying in a corner of the black box theater.
"Cat?" Andre's voice startles Cat.
"Yes?" Cat replies, her voice a bit hoarse from crying.
He sits next to her, then places his arm around her, and asks in a soothing tone: "what's wrong?"
And, Cat's ready to lie, but looking into his deep brown eyes, she feels a sort of comfort she hasn't felt in so long, like she was at home. Before, she knows it, she starts talking about her Mommy and Daddy (referring to them as Beck and Jade, of course), about feeling like she's losing her mind, and pretty much everything in between.
"…Then, I heard Beck asked Trina out, even though Jade says no one likes Trina. Also, I'm pretty sure my brother drank my favorite cotton candy pink nail polish." She looks at him, waiting for him to confirm her fears and call her crazy.
He doesn't.
Instead, he calls her Lil' Red and holds her hand. He explains what really happened with Trina, and convinces her everything will fall in to place.
"My grandmother used to say, before she lost her mind, that if you try enough to be a good person, and work hard enough, all your dreams will come true." He gives her hand a gentle squeeze.
"But, what if I'm not a good person?" She said quietly "I mean, maybe if I hadn't fainted, Jade and Beck might still be together." She looks down.
"Look, you're one of the best people I know. It is not your fault Beck and Jade broke up, that was their choice." He lifts her chin with his hand, and makes her look at him. "Never forget that."
His face gets closer and closer, his hand still loosely grabbing her chin, and she thinks he's going to kiss her.
He kisses her cheek, and muttering a good bye, walks out.
Cat bites her bottom lip, and even though she also feels incredibly awful, she's slightly disappointed.
