Chapter 1: "It's not a diary!"
Harry's Journal
Dumbledore did his annual speech after the new additions for the houses were announced by the famous sorting hat.
"Now before we eat I have two announcements to make first we will be having a Yule ball and second you are to come dressed in muggle clothes this year to try and bring some more diversity into the school instead of just having colorful robes. Now let's eat."
Harry's Journal
After Dumbledore finished his speech the food appeared and the conversations consisted of Yule ball topics.
"Who are you going to ask?"
"What are you going to wear?"
"Well I for one don't really care shouldn't we be talking about the exams that are coming up, not worrying about some stupid and meaningless ball." Said Hermione

Now that we have entered their sixth year Hermione has really been on the edge about exams, even though we don't take them until our seventh year.
"Harry are you listening stop that writing and pay attention someday I'm going to say something really important and it is going to save your life, right Ron?"
"Yeah sure right." Said Ron through a mouthful of potatoes.
"Yes I was listening Hermione I'm just keeping a journal like Sirius suggested, to vent out my troubles remember?"
"Harry you don't see me writing in my diary during dinner do you?"
"Hermione stop comparing it to a diary it's a journal."

I get really upset when people try to call it that.
"Can we please talk about something else like who we are going to take to the Yule ball?" Said Ron sipping his pumpkin juice.
