Katara never imagined she'd ever spend a birthday away from the Southern Water Tribe. Traveling with the Avatar and trying to end the nearly one hundred year war changed her life in ways she never thought possible, and this year she didn't expect much of anything on her special day.
It was for this reason that she was pleasantly surprised to find two roses next to her when she sat up, fully awake. One still had its thorns and was adorned with a red ribbon tied on its stem and the other just had its thorns removed. Katara smiled and found herself thankful for the two powerful benders who did remember her birthday.
