Chapter one: The Tragedy

It was a warm day on Lon Lon Ranch and the only thing strange about the day were the dark clouds that covered up the sun.

Talon was collecting eggs from

chickens, Malon was singing by the horses, and Ingo was milking the cows.

Malon suddenly felt the air go cold and wished she had Epona by her side, but

sadly Epona went off with Link the fairy boy to search for his friend.

Lost in thought Malon wasn't paying attention to the air around her dropping to freezing

temperatures. Until suddenly she heard a roar of a beast.

Malon was shivering with fear and from the cold already and froze like ice when she saw it, the beast

was about ten feet tall and rode a monstrous looking boar, it wore a helmet with twin horns, and it resembled a green pig with a human like face.

Hearing all the

commotion Talon and Ingo rushed outside and saw the beast. The beast then turned and blew fire out of its mouth burning Ingo to a crisp, it then grabbed

Talon and bit off his head.

Malon screamed in anguish and terror, and the beast turned toward her.

Throwing Talon's body to the side next to Ingo's flaming

skeleton. The beast then said, "Hmph, I am hungry for a female human flesh.

It's sweet and extra juicy. So come here little lady and get in my mouth.

Malon stayed frozen to the spot unable to move. "Resistance eh."

The beast said. "So be it. I'll just come over there and eat you myself.

The monster inched closer to Malon it was reaching out to grab her when suddenly…

"Get away from her monster!" someone shouted. Malon turned and saw Link facing the

monster "Well, well, well, is a puny human like you trying to be a hero?"

"I don't have to try, I am a hero." Link replied. "Ha, don't make me laugh boy your nothing but a runt."

Link had heard enough, he jumped at the beast with his gilded sword and chopped its arm.

The monster roared with pain and anger and lunged at Link.

Link dodged and pulled out his bow he then shot the monster in the chest with a light arrow he then jumped up and stabbed the monster

through the brain. It muttered its last words. I-I s-shall g-g-get my REVENGE! The beast then fell to his knees and died leaving its huge corpse behind.

Malon was still shaking not believing what just happened. Link rushed over and said worriedly. Are you okay Malon?

Malon replied still shaking. No! I'm not okay! My dad and Ingo are… Malon choked. D-d-dead! And you ask me if I'm OK!?

Link took a step back and replied. "I'm sorry I upset you I just wanted to know that

you weren't hurt." "No, I'm sorry I was the one who yelled at you" Malon replied. "It's fine you're just scared, I'm just glad your not injured." Link said.

Malon then burst into tears. A bit surprised Link staggered back, but quickly recovered.

He then came up to her and held her in his arms. "I-I-I'm s-sorry i-its just t-that I'm only 15 a-and w-without daddy I'm going t-to l-lose the r-ranch." Malon sobbed.

I JUST CAN'T DO IT ALONE! She shouted through her tears. Link took a deep breath then said. You're not alone.
