The girl was left with a bitter feeling.
She had initially thought that she'd finally get over him once she left the chocolate cake in front of the Tower. But once she was far away from her former home, she realized…that after leaving her 'goodbye' gift she was so far from it.
The schoolgirl stopped her walk and faced the coast, her eyes glued to the tower.
What if…he had already moved on? What if…she would hurt him again?
What about trying to live a normal life?
The answer was simple – she couldn't. She simply could not forget what she put her friends through and how she felt about a certain former team member. And it was probably those feelings that made her sneak her cake to the Tower.
She had wanted to let him know that no matter how hard she tried…she couldn't deny that she liked him – even beyond the simple feeling of friendship.
Terra shut her eyes, trying so hard to stay strong but the tears that streamed down her face told her that she had messed up – big time. "I'm sorry…" she cried as if the changeling was right in front of her, listening to her confession.
But he wasn't…and Terra realized that if she ever wanted to be free, she had to come clean to him.
With a tear stained face, she went to her temporary home (a small apartment) and prepared a message for the changeling. And she decided to give it to him today – the day where one is supposed to confess their feelings for their special someone.
It was late at night when Terra left her home, not even being able to get proper dinner and it didn't take long for her to reach the island. All she needed was to put the tape in Beast Boy's room.
Terra looked up but apparently everyone was asleep as all the lights were off…but something was not right.
The entrance door – was…open?
Could it be villains that entered the Tower…and possibly ambushed them?
Worry crossed her face and Terra slowly entered the Tower, eyes on the lookout for any villains. But…what could she do once she found them? Engage in a fist fight?
Her thoughts were spinning with all the possible ways she'd fail saving her friends when suddenly a light turned on and Terra spun around. "Don't come closer!" she called but saw that nobody was there. But she did notice that she was in the Ops room.
And that there was something sitting on the table in front of the couch.
Walking closer, Terra noticed that on the table was a plate…with a single slice of her cake on it. And in the corner of the plate was a heart-shaped piece of paper with the words 'Me too…' on it.
Terra picked up the paper to check if she hadn't read wrong and fresh tears filled her eyes, realizing that this cake wasn't here on coincidence. There was even a clean fork and a full glass of milk next to it.
Beast Boy had prepared this for her – there was no mistake!
She dropped onto the couch and letting her head fall into her hands, letting her frustration run wild while muttering 'I'm sorry' and 'I miss you' over and over again like a broken record.
Until the sound of footsteps snapped her back to reality and her head shot up.
And there he was – the reason why she had come here in the first place.
She decided to leave the tape on the table and just leave – like she had planned…but he beat her to it.
"It's for you," he said, referring to the untouched cake.
She couldn't stay any longer – it hurt too much! So, she stood up to leave…only for arms to wrap around her frame briefly.
"I'll be always there," he said before stepping back as if she hurt him.
And it was those words that were the final blow for her. Returning the hug, she gave her ultimate confession when she pressed her lips to his.
And she could still taste the chocolate flavor from her cake – it was sweet.
