"Finn?" Rachel asks as she steps up to the counter, cocking her head at seeing Finn working on Thanksgiving.
"Uh, hi, Rachel," Finn replied, looking down. "What can I do for you?"
"My dads ordered the Thanksgiving meal two weeks ago, I'm here to pick it up."
"Oh, uh, okay, let me find it..." Finn says, bumping into the counter behind him as he looks for 'Berry' on a ticket. "Here you go," Finn says, setting it in front of her. "Let me ring you up."
"Finn, what are you doing working on Thanksgiving? Shouldn't you be with your mom and...Quinn?" Rachel asked as Finn fumbled with the cash register and her credit card.
"Oh, uh, my mom had to work and I get time and a half if I work on holidays, so I'm just going to take home some turkey sandwiches for Quinn and I when I get off." Finn explains, finally handing her her card and a receipt to sign. "Thanks, have a good Thanksgiving!" Finn replies as another customer quickly comes up and takes his attention.
"Bye, Finn," Rachel replied quietly, already balancing the box in one hand and pulling out her cell phone with the other.
--
"Emergency phone tree activation!" Rachel said as she unlocked her car and stuck the box in the front seat, strapping it in.
"What are you talking about, Rachel?" Artie asks, the clinking of pots and pans in the background.
"Didn't you save the sheet I handed out at the beginning of the semester? The phone chain for emergencies? I call you, you call Kurt, Kurt calls -"
"Yeah, no, I, uh, recycled that." Artie cuts her off.
"Artie!" Rachel cries. "We are having a Glee-mergency!"
"I repeat, what ARE you talking about?"
"Finn and Quinn aren't getting a Thanksgiving! He's working and his mom is working they're eating turkey sandwiches!"
"That's...terrible."
"We've got to fix it!"
--
"Quinn, I'm home!" Finn said, tossing his apron over a chair in the living room. "I've got sandwiches!"
"Kitchen, Finn!"
"I got a side of potato salad--" Finn calls out.
"We won't be needing that!" Kurt said, twirling around in his mom's apron while he stirs a large bowl of something resembling mashed potatoes. "Thanksgiving dinner is coming up!"
"Wh-what?" Finn asks, gazing around at the members of the glee club scattered around his kitchen.
"We're making dinner!" Rachel said, beaming up at him from the partial cooked turkey she was checking.
"I'm in charge of vegetables!" Brittany said, wielding a large knife and a large carrot.
"Here, use this instead, Brittany," Quinn said, handing Brittany a much less scary tool, a grate with a top you press down and a plastic case underneath that catches the vegetables. Finn got it for his mom a few Christmases ago.
"Thanks, you guys!" Finn said, walking over to Quinn so he could reach up and get the serving plate she was struggling to reach on the top shelf. "This smells so good!" Finn grinned, trying to peek into the pot on the stove only to be slapped away by Mercedes.
"Nu-uh, you go take a shower. You smell like turkey and sweat and that is just nasty!"
"You're sure you guys don't need any help?" He asked, surveying the scene playing out before him. When he didn't get an answer, he shrugged his shoulders and bounded up the stairs.
