The end of the game made me cry so much.. and Ellie showed me her new Laguna page, so I was inspired to write this little Laguna poem. It's not that good, but it's all I can do to show how deeply the ending effected me. *runs off bawling*
Standing in the field of grass
Where so many years ago
He had boldly asked
For the hand of an ivory rose
They embraced in joyous moonlight
Promising to return to marry
When the time and place where right
And then he set off, his machine gun all he carried
Excuses upon excuses built up in his life
He dearly missed sweet little Ellone
And his patient prospective wife
But time flew by which could never be atoned
Raine remained as true
As a girl deeply in love could be
But she caught the flu
And ended up in a tombstone by the sea
Laguna did not know
Too busy with a rebel's cause
And all throughout the row
His life did not even pause
Then one day he paused
And looked back upon his life
A son born, lost, then found
And his Elle in the main spotlight
He tried to help so many
But neglected the ones he loved
Would he ever be ready
To be with Raine way up above?
So there he stood at the lonely grave
with a weathered wizened face
Reflecting on the life he'd made
And the memories that he'd saved
