I don't own anything, sorry if this sucks....I was just thinking on the Joker and Harley-girl's relationship as I was eating pumpkin pie...and this is what came of it, sorry if it disappoints.

Mistah J had worked her over good this time. She wasn't going to be ruining anybody's plans anytime soon; he'd made sure of that. She hears the blood pounding in her ears, making her head hurt more than it already does.

She doesn't understand how she screwed up this time, but she knows she must've or she wouldn't be in so much pain. It seems to her that she always manages to screw up her Puddin's plans in some way or another. It isn't his fault she's so clumsy, or that he's forgetful….he didn't really mean to hit her with that tire iron, or the vase she made him in art class at Arkham….or the time with the screwdriver…..he didn't mean it. The one thing she does know…that all the times he hurts her….he doesn't mean it. He mustn't or she'd be dead already, right? So he can't possibly mean to hurt her….he'd of killed her already if he really wanted her gone.

It doesn't make sense to anyone else, how she can keep going back to him. How she can take the abuse, day after day, how she can love him, it defies logical reasoning. She is one of the few things he can't bring himself to destroy completely, though for the life of him he can't say why. She is the light to his dark, and though it kills him to admit it, he is fond of her. Her way of smiling through the abuse, laughing at his antics, apologizing profusely if she makes a minor mistake, singing random show tunes at the most inconvenient times. She completes him, in some strange way, makes him human and he doesn't like feeling human, so he kicks her out for a while, just long enough for him to go back to being inhuman, before taking her back again. She understands that he can't become too human, or the game will be over, and she wants to keep playing, so she takes the abuse, and when it gets too much and he kicks her to the curb, she goes and plays with Ivy.

Yes, it doesn't make sense to anyone but them, and she likes it that way, it's like a secret that only they share. Their own special secret….just like normal couples have songs, movies, or places they go out to, they have a special secret that only they know and it is her prize possession. The secret that he needs her, and that he actually gives a damn if she's alive or dead, and that if anyone ever knew he'd kill them because it is their secret and nobody else's. They tell her that he's incapable of love, that he's using her, manipulating her to meet his own sick needs, but she knows that they are testing her loyalty and her love for him. They try to keep them separated in Arkham, assign them different recreation room times, different meal times, to try and loosen his grip on her, but they meet up anyway, like two magnets attracted to one another, it is nearly impossible to keep them apart.
