Her day had been so normal. She never expected it to end the way it did.
Judy Hopps had just got off duty and, like she had that morning to work, she decided she'd walk back home. That summer day had been deathly hot, but the evening was beautiful. The sun had almost completely set over the city of Zootopia, the noise died down and bustling traffic almost nonexistent. Her phone dinged, and Judy checked her texts, smiling in amusement when she saw who the sender was.
Nick:
Hey Carrots! U home yet?
Nick Wilde always made sure she got home safe. He'd joined the ZPD a few months earlier, and it had been a little over a year since the Nighthowler case. However, despite the tremendous praise Judy had received from the majority of Zootopia, there were those who weren't too happy with a bunny cop. Some claimed that the Nighthowler case had been a setup, made to make her popular or whatever. Some supported Bellwether's views and actions. And some of those had made threats, anonymous letters mailed to the ZPD and her apartment.
Judy didn't care for their opinions. What mattered was that she was able to help make the world a better place, one locked up criminal at a time.
To reassure her fox friend of her safety, she texted a reply back as she turned onto her street.
Judy:
Just one block to go. :) You still on for that movie marathon this weekend?
Nick:
Of course! And I'll bring the popcorn! ;) What flavor u want, buttered or caramel?
Before she could send back a reply, a large furry arm suddenly wrapped around her middle, holding her arms down and sending her phone flying from her paws. Another large paw was also closed over her mouth, smothering her with a moist cloth.
It all happened so fast. Judy hadn't even heard this attacker sneak up.
Panic set in almost immediately, and she struggled, kicking as hard as she could as whatever the cloth was soaked in made her mind go hazy. Oddly enough, the only thing she thought of before blacking out was the fact that her feet were no longer on the ground, and she was being carried to a van…

Judy slowly came to, groaning as a migraine bit into her head. She opened her eyes…
Darkness. She couldn't see anything.
She could feel tight bonds around her limbs and around her head in a makeshift muzzle, but as far as she knew she couldn't feel any blindfolds.
The room must've been pitch black.
A noise from outside, and Judy struggled to call out, the muzzle cutting into her mouth the harder she tried.
Suddenly, a slit of light turned on a little distance away. The light was coming through from under a door. The door opened and Judy reflexively winced as a cold white light filled the room.
"She's small, no one will notice her missing."
She finally managed to open her eyes through the harsh light, and saw an ocelot, a honey badger, and a leopard standing before her, the ocelot and badger in white lab coats with nametags on the pockets. The ocelot's tag said "DR. ROSE PROWLSTON", the honey badger's "DR. AJAX COMB". The leopard wore no lab coat and no nametag, just black jeans and a black hoodie and a black beanie.
The moment Dr. Comb's eyes landed on Judy, he suddenly whipped around to the leopard with a screech.
"'SHE'S SMALL?! NO ONE WILL NOTICE HER MISSING'?! YOU IDIOT, THAT'S JUDY HOPPS! THE WORLD WILL BE LOOKING FOR HER!"
The leopard flinched away from the honey badger, genuinely terrified. With a soft mutter of "My bad," he quickly left the room. Dr. Comb groaned, running a hand down his face.
"Well, we can't let her go now. She'll get the whole ZPD on our tails. Rose, get her ready." With that, Dr. Combs left the room in a huff.
Judy glared as the ocelot approached her and removed the muzzle.
"You will be locked up for this," The bunny snapped in a low, dangerous tone. Rose said nothing, removing the bunny's belt, along with the tranquilizer gun and pepper spray that were attached, and locked them in a safe across the room before turning to and finally speaking to Judy.
"Don't make a fuss, and you and your family will be okay."
The ocelot pulled a tablet out of her pocket, logging on before flipping the screen around to show Judy a picture of some of her younger siblings playing at a park back in BunnyBurrow. Judy froze.
"W-what?"
"Cooperate, and I'll call off the sniper."
Did they actually send a sniper to kill her family?! Shocked and terrified into silence, Judy did and said nothing as her bonds were removed and a stack of white clothes passed to her.
"Change into these."
She didn't object, quickly and quietly changing into the white elastic sweatpants and white t-shirt, long bunny ears lowered backwards.
After she had changed, Rose pressed a button on a wireless earpiece.
"Subject is ready for cuffing. Stand by."
Judy felt stupid and weak. This ocelot was unarmed, while she was a trained cop. She could take her down….she should… But she didn't. She now had confirmation that this cat had communication to the outside. Whether or not she'd just spoken the possible sniper racked at Judy's brain.
Rose took hold of her upper arm and led her out of the room and down a long hallway. The next room they entered had all sorts of security screens and whatnot, and a large window next to them revealed a large white room.
In the large white room sat an egg shaped…pod? Judy didn't know what to call it. It sat on it's side, on table like legs, with a ramp that went up into an opening.
Captivated by the machine and in shock, Judy gave a sharp cry of surprise and pain as a tight cuff locked around her right wrist. Looking down at it as she was pulled along, she saw three little lights. Red, amber, and green. Like the lights at an intersection. The green light flickered on, and Rose spoke up.
"Vitals are good. Let's put her in."
Judy shook her head, trying to clear her mind of the adrenaline rush that fogged her thoughts as Rose opened a door into the large white room. "What…What are you doing?"
"You're a guinea pig. You're going back in time. Congratulations."
Judy suddenly looked up, mind clear and fear making her fur stand up. She was being taken up the ramp into the pod.
"W-WAIT! How do you know it won't just disintegrate me?!"
"We don't. That's why you're our test subject," said Ajax's voice through a speaker.
Judy started fighting against Rose, hitting the ocelot as hard as she could. "NO! DON'T PUT ME IN THERE!"
"That's enough." Rose flipped her with the scary skill of an assassin, and Judy landed on her back, a pain searing in the back of her head. In the corner of her eye, she saw a light on the cuff flicker the amber color. Rose got in her face.
"Put up a fuss again, and your family will be making funeral arrangements for a kid."
Terror shot through Judy like electricity, and instinct took over, making her freeze up as Rose dragged her the rest of the way into the pod. Throwing the bunny in, the door automatically closed and Rose turned to walk away, going back through the door to the screen room. The ocelot then spoke into her earpiece.
"She's in the pod. You can back off."
Inside the pod, Judy began to panic, hyperventilating as she struggled to push the door open. Of course, the automatic door held firm. Suddenly, the pod began vibrating, and she felt sick to her stomach. She fell to the floor, squeezing her eyes shut against the nausea.
Just as suddenly as it had begun, it all stopped and the door reopened.
Judy looked up, but instead of the expected white room there was a large, snow covered forest. "W-what….how…" She stood up and carefully stepped out of the pod, awestruck.
It…it had worked. She was in the past, she had to be!
Judy shivered, now realizing how cold it was. It was colder than Tundratown in the winter!
The sound of a sudden clack brought her out of her awe, and she turned to see that she'd left the pod and stepped off the ramp.
The ramp, of which, was retracting. And the door was closing.
"NO! WAIT!"
Flickering like a broken streetlight, the pod suddenly vanished.
Judy was alone.

Hours must've passed. She was freezing, but she knew she had to keep moving.
After having spent a good half hour screaming, crying, and begging for them to send the pod back, Judy had come to her senses. She was in the past, there didn't look to be any buildings or settlements anywhere. How far back in time had she gone?
A low rumble in the distance caught her attention, and looking up gave her her answer.
A herd of mammoths slowly trudged through the snow far ahead of her, on all fours too.
The Ice Age. Of all the time settings to send me to, they sent me to a place with wild animals?!
A soft crunch in the snow behind her brought her ears to stand up straight as she whipped around, terrified. At first, she didn't see anything…
She only had a split second to react as a pair of wild, golden eyes suddenly appeared, and a large wolf head full of sharp teeth went straight for her.
With a shriek, Judy dodged the direwolf and ran for her life, the canine's hot breath panting on her heels. Another direwolf joined the first, the two of them hunting the terrified bunny as they crowded her into a tight narrow path.
Amidst the high speed chase, Judy caught sight of wide open space between the trees, and she jumped for it. If they corner me, I'm as good as dead!
Judy reached the open space, but suddenly found her feet sliding and she lost her balance, sliding a few feet before stopping. No longer hearing the panting breaths of the wolves in her ears, she took a moment to catch her breath before looking up.
A couple meters away, close to the tree line, the two wolves paced hungrily, growling nastily.
Judy had to let slip a relieved giggle. "I-I'm alive!"
A crackling noise underfoot immediately brought her good mood crashing down, and she looked to her feet.
Ice. Sheet thin too, but all she could see though it was a foggy white.
"Oh no….nononononononoNO-"
The ice broke, and she gave a loud scream as she fell to her presumed death.
