Nicky, I'm Scared
The last bell of the day rang, announcing that school was over. I jumped out of my seat and hurried towards the door. I felt Nick wrap his arm around my waist as he came up beside me.
"Do you have everything for movie night?" Nick asked me as we headed towards our dorm. I rolled my eyes and kissed his cheek.
"It's like you don't know me at all," I said, placing a hand over my chest and looking hurt. I had gotten all of the food and drinks during my lunch.
"I'm sorry Jeffy," Nick told me, kissing my nose. "You are adorable." I blushed and glanced at the ground. His compliment made my stomach flutter.
Nick glanced at the bags I set on the bed and his eyes widened. I silently laughed at his expression.
"What all did you get? This is a lot of food!" Nick exclaimed, looking through one of the bags and emptying its contents.
"Um . . . the usual; plus, I may have gotten some ice cream and frozen yogurt," I answered, taking out a package of Red Vines from one of the others. I loved eating Red Vines during movies. To me, it was better than popcorn.
When everything was taken out and laid neatly on a nearby desk which happened to be Nick's, I put the movie in my laptop. We pushed our beds together so we would have more room. I rested my back against the headboard. Nick's head was lying on my chest. I ran my fingers through his wavy, black hair. He gave a sigh of content which made me smile.
Around the middle of the movie, I saw a bolt of lightning flash outside, lighting the dark room.
Then the thunder came.
I bolted up, causing Nick to fall off of me. Without saying anything, Nick wrapped his arms around me. I laid my head on his shoulder and sighed.
Since I was little, I had always been scared of thunderstorms. I don't really remember how that started, to be honest. But my brother did comfort me through them like Nick was doing now. He was rubbing small circles on my back, kissing my temple when there was another boom of thunder louder than before.
"I'm scared, Nicky," I whispered to him. The movie was long forgotten, now it was just kind of background noise. I soaked up Nick's comfort and warmth when he pulled me closer to him.
This was one of the many reasons why I love Nick. He helps me through my phobias and comforts me. He doesn't judge me.
"It'll be okay, Jeffy," Nick whispered back. "I'm here." I turned my head and pecked his lips lightly.
"Thank you," I told him. I Niff you."
"I Niff you too," Nick replied, kissing me again. I laid my head on his chest. His heartbeat was relaxing to me. I heard rain pelting the window, like the window was going to break. It was raining cats and dogs outside, but I didn't really care anymore as I fell asleep in Nick's arms.
This is short, okay. I had this idea in mind when there was a thunderstorm late at night, and I couldn't sleep.
So...yeah.
What did you guys think? Review and let me know! :)
Sorry this was short.
