It was always a possibility and they knew it. There was a war going on around them after all and people were dying left and right. Yet somehow, Maedhros had always imagined that it wouldn't affect their relationship at all. He had been wrong. Terribly wrong. And now he had been without Findekano for century after century. It was too much. Fingon's death was only the second death that had hit him. His father's hadn't, not really. And after that, people dear to him started dropping right and left until it was just him and Canafinwë. And he doesn't want to stay, not really. Not anymore. So he embraces the end and jumps.
