I closed my eyes as I pulled my chiffon sleeveless blouse over my head, i exhale slowly before opening my eyes. The blouse floated down to my hips loosely, it's striking blue matching that of my eyes. I grimaced "This is not good enough." I grabbed a thin black belt from my bedroom draws and wrapped it around my waist. Much better.

After putting some black eye liner on i regarded myself one last time in the mirror; my thick hazel hair was tied back in a long plait that fell to my mid back, i wore tight dark navy jeans with leather boots and the blouse. All in all a striking outfit that would be completed on arrival at The Hub. Now happy about my appearance i ran downstairs only to be accosted by my Aunt Jeanine.

"Cassiopeia, how are you this morning?"

"I'm not too bad Auntie Jean, I still miss him but todays choosing day so I need to focus on that." i replied with a sad smile

"I know my dear. Well just remember, choose what you feel is right." Jeanine said cupping my cheek in one hand

I laugh" Aren't you meant to tell me to choose what the test told me to. I mean we're meant to follow what the facts tell us."

She grinned "Cassie you can still choose though. Just know i will still be looking out no matter what you decide."

"Thanks Aunt Jean. Shall we get Andy and go then." I smiled up into her blue eyes

"Yes we'd better. I like your hair like that, plaits suit you."

And so the conversation ended. We went into the kitchen where my mother and sister were sat. Their identical shade of dark blonde hair gleamed in the sunlight streaming in through the window.

"hello sweetheart," my mother said walking over to me and kissing my head "Is it time for you to leave?"

" Yeah, time for the big choice. Are you certain you can't come?" Andromeda, my twin, said jumping up and giving our Aunt a hug.

"I'm sorry my dears I'm required at work today but i do have one last thing to give you both in case your instincts tell you to leave here." she put her hand into her pocket and brought out three silver rings.

She handed one to me and another to Andy. The ring was made to look as if an infinity knot was tied in it and on the inside there was and engraving that said "No star is ever truly alone". This quote was something our mother had always told Andy and me when we were sad, she made reference to the stars because our father had named us after constellations named thousands of years ago.

"thank you its beautiful" i choked out

After some tearful goodbyes Andy, Aunt Jeanine and i left for the Hub where the choosing ceremony would take place. Aunt Jeanine was coming because she would be representing Erudite today.
