Starter Sentence: "The night sky was full of stars, but no moon."

***

The night sky was full of stars, but no moon. It was funny; it really was. The moon didn't just vanish. Well, maybe these days it does. So much has changed since the days I know well. I don't quite know anymore. I am well and truly out of my rightful time and place. Sometimes, I think I should've gone with the last ship to pass into the west and not stayed here. And then I remember. I couldn't. And I still can't. I'm not welcome there anymore. The blood of innocent stains my hands…innocent elves whose only crime was that they stood in the way of us and taking their boats. Looking back on it; I think both races over-reacted, but there had just been…well, a lot of stuff. Too much to just take in in that small amount of time we had before Father came back, gone completely mad with…a lot of things; lust, anger, hatred, terror, and a burning desire for revenge. I never should have followed him. I should've known better. I was his son and I knew he was always a little bit insane. So why did I follow something so utterly and completely insane? I don't know. I never could figure that out. I still can't.
