Hello! So recently I was talking with the lovely sasou (whose writing and art are beautiful, so you should check them here and on Tumblr, where she goes as sasoustuff) and she told me she wished she could read my Spanish fics. Seeing as that's the best compliment ever and made me cry from happiness, I decided to translate them for her and post them here for anyone who might prefer reading in English. Here is the first, hope you enjoy this!
He wasn't surprised when he felt her approach him. It may be difficult to notice, but he knew she worried about him. That was why, when he felt so confused, she was the one to sit by his side. He thanked her profusely, her company gave him strength. Knowing she'd never leave him helped keep him standing, but the fact that she followed him to that place meant more than just that, it was a reminder that this was her choice, not just an an obligation.
He didn't turn to see her, there were still many things to think about, decisions to be made about the recent revelations. She didn't make a sound for the hour and half that they stayed there. Maybe in the end it didn't matter, he thought. As much as he tried to imagine things being different, to change his own path, the answer he ended up coming with was the same he'd been following all this time. He couldn't force himself to do things differently, it just wasn't like him.
He sighed tiredly. What a pain, that he'd taken so much time to come up with such a lame answer. He stood up and finally laid his eyes on her. He was about to apologize for making her wait when he realized her eyes were closed and she was trembling. He swore under his breath.
He crossed the few steps between them in a breeze. Then crouched and took her in his arms. Even through the fabric he could sense she was freezing. He sighed her name without thinking.
"Are you done?" she asked, voice calm and eyes only half opened.
"Yes. Sorry it took so long," he answered.
For all answer she just snuggled closer. He rubbed his hands over her slender arms, hoping to warm them up.
"Are you warm enough?" She looked better, he thought they could start walking, but she surprised him.
"No." Instead of separating to stand up, she lowered her head, burying her face in his shoulder.
He shuddered. A shiver went down his spine when her nose touched his skin. She was freezing. He embraced her tighter and lowered his face closer, maybe his breath could help her fight the cold just a bit.
It worked, Anna turned her face towards him in a silent show of relieve. He wanted to help her even more, so, deciding not to overthink things, he kissed her.
It started awkwardly, her lips were too cold for comfort, and she didn't seem interested in moving them. Still, he kept his own lips pressed firm until she answered his gesture. He didn't realize when the intensity changed, but he managed his goal, they both got warmer.
He felt embarrassed when they finally opened their eyes, it hadn't been his intention to make it last so long. There was nothing to do but smile. Heavens knew how long they'd have stayed there, stunned, gazing into the other's eyes, if not for a breeze of air that made them shiver again.
"We should return home now."
She nodded, so they stood up together. They walked with their arms around each other. He didn't want her to get cold again and she seemed more worried about staying warm than embarrassed about their position. Maybe all that introspection was worth it after all.
