A vicious and unnecessary comment.
The Draco Malfoy and Hermione Grangers fans received chapter notifications that one of their favorite stories by their favorite author had been updated. But there was something strange about this update, Draco's name was gone and his place there was a third string fiddler name Theo Nott taking his place.
Fans were shocked.
"What is this?" they cried. "What happened to hero? What's going on with this story? What is going on?"
Some fans posted reviews, others sent PMs, all saying the same thing. "I am sorry, author, I am fan of DM/HG, so I cannot continue reading this story."
There were no insults to the author, it was simply saying this change was unexpected and not our cup of tea. It was no this disrespect to your or your talents, it was just us brokenheartedly walking away from a story that we all loved.
Take this how you will. When you make a major change in a story that your readers are invested in, they will lose faith in you, especially when you send out rude little replies without reading what your loyal fans actually wrote.
